  1. There are one or two conundrums in there. I don't recall anybody saying this time last year that they would be running at a loss for two years. In fact I'm sure I remember them promising it would only be for the first year. How can they possibly be ahead of their debt reduction plan when their profitability is deteriorating, or rather their trading losses are continuing. I would be pretty sure that Brown's prediction to stop the losses in year 3 or 4 also includes promotion. I see they have extended the deadline for buying "shares" again to July. They better sell some soon because the developers already own more than 49% on top of controlling the board. Their property developing benefactors had to pump half a million in this year to keep them going. Less than fifty grand now buys the majority. The way I look at it they have something like 30% of our debt and 2% of our income.
  2. No you're right. If only they had less money next season than this one.
  3. I don't think they play much football in Afar, at least they didn't last time I was there. It's much to hot, and pretty much desert.
  4. They could always introduce a new rule that says loans are only allowed in emergencies.
  5. Only if they move Somalia to India. It was still in Africa last time I looked.
  6. But they did. They phoned around all the airlines to see if anybody had lost a jumbo jet. Nobody had.
  7. Not really. The Japanese DC-8 pictured was picked up, dried out and continued to fly for 34 more years after it's unintended landing in the Pacific. Nobody was injured.
  8. It is entirely possible. However, I'm not sure that somebody who went to great lengths to seize control of the plane, switch off all of its trackable communication devices to hide from the authorities, and then fly thousands of miles into the desolate southern oceans, would be highly motivated to give it a go. What do you think?
  9. Give it to them before they have to come grovelling, you tight-fisted old gits.
  10. Respect. I for one admire people who don't stoop so low that they post their private opinions about other people on public internet forums.
  11. ...but the bestest news of all comes from the CEO. They're ahead of buget on some, but not all, of their income targets, which means that they are going to bring forward the date when they pay off their debts from 2016 to ......... 2016.
  12. I'm not so sure. I think it's the Tesco money.
  13. How dare you. In the very words of the chairman himself, he believes that it is imminent that something is probably in the region of happening. Hopefully. And I note that he has given notice to their brand new manager at the start of the article that he's going to be replaced in the summer.
  14. I'm not sure J-Rod and Fonte would agree with you there
  15. He didn't. Why make things up? He said we were when they came in. I think the fact that Kat had to rummage around the bottom of her handbag to find £2.2m in cash last September confirms that. My interpretation is that he was having a pop at the financial planning (or lack of). You really shouldn't have to go to the owner cap-in-hand for 2 million quid in cash if you're running the business properly.
  16. They could invite McInness and that miserable looking old git from the PDT that usually sits next to him up to Anfield on the last day of the PL season and present them with a 10-foot cardboard cheque in the centre circle.

    Dirty rain

Two days here. The trouble with a sandstorm like that is that you can't see the plastic bags coming until they're wrapped round your face.
  18. Insulation in the internal drywall partitions?
  19. There's a tank of live lobsters in my local supermarket. They all think they've been saved as well.
  20. Somewhere between 16th and 18th. Exterminate!!!!!!!!
  21. Indeed. They're firmly in "something will turn up" territory already, needing outsiders to fund the wages of any loanees coming in, and they haven't even got to the "income-free" summer closed season yet. Or did I read in the News a couple of weeks ago that they have a humungous player budget for next year, to fund the promotionest squad ever seen in League 2, and they will publish the full details as soon as everybody has bought their season ticket?
  22. But this one is a cup final, innit? We all know how hard it is to get cup final tickets.
  23. And if they all say their prayers every night, and have loads of good luck going their way, they could even get to do it all again next year, with even worse players and less money.
  24. Maybe because the only fact it fits is the one that attorneys have filed a lawsuit against Boeing. For what it's worth, not much I know, my money's on the same horse as Eric Moody's. Somebody deliberately flew the plane to wherever it ended up. That does fit with the known facts. Don't know who or why.
