  1. Portugal, apparently. So he hasn't been booed there. Yet.

Never let it be forgotten that we elected John Major. And Gordon Brown.
  3. Sorry, my mistake. I thought the statement that UK is the most unequal country in Europe was yours
  4. You don't say if it's rented or owned. If it's rented I would expect the landlord to insure the fabric of the building and his fixtures and fittings. And if you own it with a mortgage, isn't it a condition of your mortgage to insure it?
  5. As is often the case, this is just more left wing bias. The Eurofound report itself is specifically only looking at the impact of the recession in 2008/09, and recognises the inadequacy of it's own information on which it bases it's findings. It only looks at data between 2007 and 2011, and it certainly doesn't make any projection to 2020 as the blogger does. And it doesn't look at Europe, it only looks at the EU. So what I think btf meant to say is that the UK was the most unequal country with respect to wages in the European Union four years ago, but four years of Tory/LibDem coalition since then have probably helped to reduction the inequalities that were created by the previous Labour administration. Or something like that.
  6. It probably was one of them.

ah, the old "yes we were wrong, but nobody could have known at the time that we were wrong so we were actually right. And the people that were right couldn't possibly have known at the time that they were right, so they were the ones that were actually wrong" defence. Works every time.

I think the main point he was making is sound, although it got a bit lost. It is just as likely that 59% of the electorate supports the Tories as the 24% that actually voted for them, because nobody knows which party the 35% that didn't vote actually support. The truth is somewhere in between.
  10. Should just about cover Cook and Awford, so they'll have to keep Waddock and the rest of his minions.
  11. Somebody making a pitch for the recently vacated post as Head of Self Aggrandisement.
  12. Wow. I'm shocked. Flabbergasted even. What a day. Bletch has a desk.
  13. They owe Awford a year's salary. That must be close to a hundred grand.
  14. So IOU it is then.
  15. Fark me. It was bad enough finding out that you're a product of the flower estate. Now this. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm a nice bloke, I might start wondering if you are me.
  16. Fair doos. Maybe there is hope.
  17. In 2010 (I think I'm right in saying) in every round of voting of the Parliamentary Party, David won. In every round of voting of the Party members, David won. In every round of voting by Union members, Ed won. It's just disappointing that, with the current system, unless another chameleon like Blair manages to slip through their net, they will never be electable.
  18. What we need is a good old Labour Party leadership election thread, to kick this one in to touch. Don't the NEC announce something today? I would love to be able to vote labour again. Unfortunately, until they take control of the Party away from the Trade Unions, I cant see that happening.
  19. I'm pretty sure btf will be able to help you out with all the links to the amazing lethal goals scored from the left wing.
  20. I thought equality legislation was intended to dictate how you act, not how you think.
  21. It's their children I feel sorry for. It's a terrible way to go. Probably worse than being shot in the back eight times.
  22. It will be an IOU
  23. Yep. That's me. Chicken to the core, but anally unplugged.
  24. Point well missed. The right wing loonies aren't in the Conservative Party, they have to go and form their own, BNP, UKIP and the like. The left wing loonies, on the other hand, are all a part of that rainbow coalition that the Labour Party has become in order to try to compete. I am a former Labour Party supporter and voter, but this lot are going nowhere until they sort themselves out. If you need a reminder, go back and have a look again at the results of all of the different votes in the last leadership election in 2010.
  25. In that case, I'm out.
