  1. You cite England's proficiency from set pieces but look at the delivery from Young. Just floated in. Anyone can do that.
  2. Looks like he's not in the squad for today's friendly.
  3. I went to school with him. FACT.
  4. What about midfield?
  5. Why did you pick a date 9 days ago, out of interest? Haven't Everton sighed Frazer Richarlison for oooodles since then?
  6. Prague for a Desmond is still a good deal!
  7. In fairness, it has never been Government policy that Brexit would provide a huge bounty, although certain individuals within the government may have indicated that. Government is now dealing with the hand it was dealt. So it's a bit of a non-sequitur. And I actually am reassured that there is at least a level of proper contingency planning going on. I repeat my longstanding view that before anything was done to implement Article 50 we should have had a general election with parties standing on a clear manifesto of what their Brexit position was. Instead we got the Tories proceeding with a new leader and a load of infighting (which Labour probably also would have had) and holding a snap election when the Article 50 horse had already bolted.
  8. Channel 4, Mondays at 22:00. Think it airs in US on Sunday evenings so avoid references on Twitter / Google etc during Monday if you don't want "spoilers"!
  9. - You saved children? - Yeah, like 6,000.
  10. How long do you fry your salmon for?
  11. As long as it's not a really big game (local derby, el Classico, Champs League knock-out etc.) it should be pretty easy to buy tickets in town a couple of days before or at the very least to order online in advance. Sometimes ordering online can be a bit hit and miss because they sell "returned" season tickets so availability can appear where previously the seats looked sold. I would imagine that booking flights and tickets separately would work out a lot cheaper than using a package operator but it's worth checking just in case you can find a bargain. It would partly depend how easy it is for you to access a budget-airline operating airport. Both Nou Camp and Bernabeu are brilliant. Nou Camp for the sheer scale and Bernabeu for the way they pack the tiers of the ground in on top of the other - it's quite an intense layout. I'd also recommend doing the stadium tours. Both grounds easy to get to on metro system. Both cities great places to spend a few days. Madrid is less touristy and probably a bit cheaper when you're there but you can do Barcelona without spending a fortune as well. Obviously each place has its own non-footballing virtues too (such as the Gaudi architecture in Barcelona, the museums and government buildings in Madrid etc.) Hard to choose really! I'm sure you'd have a great time in either. I'd decide when you want to go then see who has the better fixtures then and which flights are most convenient and decide based on that.
  12. I live in Scotland and I survive on Gregg's and Irn Bru.
  13. They won the World Cup and they've got a "way". Fact!
  14. "Let's Gao ****ing mental" car sticker
  15. I was a little disappointed with the first episode but that last half an hour of TV was quite staggering. I just saw a member of the GA House of Representatives whip his arse out and try to touch a man with it to turn him gay, scream the "n" word, do a terrible, racist impersonation of a Chinese man by saying Japanese words and Vietnamese place-names & take an upskirt photo...because he thought it would be a useful anti-ISIS strategy. And those ****s in that redneck ****-hole. **** me.
  16. Long to Celtic then? I'd happily take Welbeck if he's fit. Mobile and stretches defences. Can play across the line. Can't see us signing someone better.
  17. He's capable of playing well but he makes lots of very poor errors. He's miles below the level you need if you want to be a decent top half team.
  18. Agree with that. Newcastle to implode.
  19. Just a rehash of previous stories with a tenuous link.
  20. We Wish to Inform You That Tomorrow We Will Be Killed With Our Families, by Philip Gourevitch. It's an excellent piece of writing. Just came inside to make a drink and do a couple of errands. Back in the garden now. My Oriental lillies have bloomed. Lovely stuff.
  21. How has Elyounoussie looked?
  22. I do worry if Hughes is too wedded to this system. Needs must and, fair play, he got us over the line - just - last season. Stoke were a disorganised mess when we played them when they were under him, though.
