  2. Sorry, do people seriously think Schneiderlin is going to play?

    Shane Long

Defence is still the worry. Rest of the squad is fine (assuming Long and Garcia are signing). It's just a question of whether Koeman gets them playing effectively. We don't really have good wingers so I would hope we find a system that doesn't rely on having good wingers! I've mentioned it a couple of times but I think a diamond formation would play to our strengths.
  4. He's excellent and his passing is much better than given credit for on here. He takes so much pressure off the centre backs.

Forster Clyne - - Font - - New CB (Yoshi) - Bertrand -------------------Wanyama (Cork)----------- ----------Morgan/JWP---- Taider/Davis -----------------------Tadic (Ramirez)-------- --------------Pelle(SG)------Rodriguez(Long) To my mind, that's a very decent team provided we sign a good CB. Lots of competition everywhere apart from defence. I think we will have more options off the bench this season, at least.

    Shane Long

My thoughts really. He's not bad at all, offers something different to the other players in the squad and reinforces an area where we have no depth.
  7. How long has he worked with you?
  8. I would set up like this to begin with: ---------------FF------------------- Clyne--Fonte--Yoshida/new--Bertrand --------------Wanyama------------- ---------Cork-----------Davis--------- ---------------Tadic----------------- ---------------Ramirez--------------- --------------------Pelle------------- Central mid is our strongest area so let's play a diamond and pack it. I know we won't get behind Liverpool like that unless Clyne gets forward but I think it would give us more stability than the 4-3-3 and should help cut off the supply to Liverpool's front three. I also have more faith in Gaston working a goal from nothing than in Isgrove/Mayuka doing anything effective. If we can frustrate them for a bit and have them pushing forward we can swap Gaston or Tadic for a packer player and look to spring counters. Davis and Cork to run their arses off knowing we have Taider and JWP on the bench.
  9. I can see Newcastle, Stoke and Swansea making ground on us and possibly overtaking us. Would I rather be West Ham, Villa, West Brom, Sunderland or one of the promoted clubs? Probably not and I expect us to add a couple more quality players. It seems clear we were prepared to drop around 15 mill on Rojo. So I reckon 10-12th.

    Taïder

I thought Wanyama was our best player but Taider looks like an excellent all-around midfielder. I think we should play with a diamond as midfield is clearly our strongest area.

    Taïder

What did people think of Taider? I thought he looked good.
  12. It was fine. Why were you gimps staring at the lights?
  13. I agree. There's nothing more annoying than workers with a sense of entitlement who have no respect for their employer's legitimate business needs.

    Marcos Rojo

I've come across some right idiots who run businesses. I'm not saying he is an idiot, mind.

You need to stop with all these tax posts as you are hopelessly confused and clearly don't understand the difference between a balance sheet and a profit/loss account.
  16. Putting aside the specific issue of England underperforming, it helps when players arrive at a world cup without being burned out/knackered. I would say the rigour of the EPL is the problem, not the quality. Who were say, the top ten players at the world cup: Robben Neymar Rodrigues Messi Mascherrano Muller Schweinsteiger Kroos Benzema Neuer Obviously it's subjective but none of them play in the EPL. Did any EPL player stand out? Vlaar, I guess. Aguero - crocked Rooney - carp Toure - carp Hazard - average RVP - good in bursts but hardly a stand out Gerrard - carp

    What a great post.
  19. Slovenian Presidential visit?
  20. He was barely good enough for us for long periods of last season so he's going to look utter tripe compared to the world-class Suarez. As someone else noted, his best bet would be playing behind Sturridge but that isn't going to happen as they have Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana and the other new signing to fit in, as well as Emre Can possibly meaning Gerrard/Henderson can play more advanced. He will be a bit part sub for a year.
  21. We really don't need Roswell.
  22. Guly, Waigo, Antonio, Bignall, Trotman..... we've had 'nuff loans under Cortese and very helpful some of them were too (others less so).
  23. Is it NAMBLA again?
  24. Did any player of any nationality who plays in the Premier League have a particularly good World Cup (ignoring bit parts like Krul and Suarez).
  25. He's quality. Better than Morgan was at 19.
