Let's face it, if you had been banned, threads like this wouldn't exist. These infractions and any related complaints are the work of small minded tossers.
Having slept on it my view is:
If you're 60-64 and you can't afford it, go without for a couole of years FFS and be grateful you got such a good deal in the past.
It's a shame for you, obviously
We're talking about a discounted leisure purchase though and you have to admit, 60 is not a normal retirement age any more. So you go without an ST for a couple of years - things could be worse.
Probably not that many. The installment plan is back. If you can afford one at last year's prices in one whack you can probably afford the first two payments without worrying, leaving you about 4 months to fund the remaining 30 or so percent.
I have some sympathy but some of the melodramatics on here are quite sickening.
Maybe the reason other clubs open their window earlier is because they can't stomach the childish whining and "woe is me" tantrums of the economically irrational proportion of their fan base.
As someone else said, it spreads cost between July and November so I wouldn't dismiss it as "hardly worth the effort". Presumably the initial payment is either 55% or 52.5% so that's a significantly smaller one-off commitment.
Fair point, perhaps previous concessions should be treated as such even if non-renewing equivalents wouldn't be. I guess that would be a nice touch but then it would have to apply to young'uns if you want to recategorise other banding too.
Why should we be desperate?
Desperate businesses don't do well and make commercially irational long-term decisions for short-term reasons.
Our attendances were good last year. They will be better this year.
