Your first comment clearly contained an implied insult. By saying the thread was pointless you are implying that the poster was being, in some sense, pointless. That is slightly insulting. I'm not saying that you should not hold an opinion by virtue of doing a bit of work for a newspaper. Given, however, that you were silly enough to "out" yourself on here you can expect to take some flack when the implied insult in your comment can easily be levelled at the organisation you write for, and further that it smacks of hypocrisy somewhat to bite the hand that apparently feeds; if people thought for hours on end about the relative merits of starting every thread there would be a less vibrant discussion on here, fewer rumours and fewer "emails apparently from the ticket office".

I think you're right, but... If the case is resolved in HMRC's favour before the football debts are paid in full, however (ie when PL parachute money earmarked for football creditors has yet to fall due), then the whole thing would get rather messy indeed. I wouldn't be surprised if HMRC attempt to stay the CVA in some way.

Thanks - someone intelligent enough to see the point I was actually making...

Ignoring your silly response which takes affront at something I didn't even suggest.... We all know this is now your best source of material (vis Senior Sports Reporter Gordon Simpsons' reference to emails "reportedly from the ticket office") so I suggest you don't go about insulting other posters who provide you with the ability to do your job.

I have to challenge this assumption that less STs = less money (and I know you caveated your comment in relation to succes on the pitch). If you buy a ticket for 15 matches you will pay more than if you had bought an ST (and that's without adding any booking fees on). I suspect most prior ST holders who don't renew will go to 15 or more matches if the team is winning most weeks. Whilst this has caused some unhappiness it has obviously been considered and determined that it is the best thing to do. The issue here is in relation to the Fans Charter which now either appears to have been very misleading or simply not worth bothering with and in the lack of a decent explanation in relation to this.

The reality is something rather different.

PMSL It looks like a pastiche but it's probably real.

I would crack up if a street hawker used that line! Much better than, "special price for you my friend, yes please."

She is fit but I fear she may be a complete vacuous ho'bag. The schwein, however, has something to offer in her eyes.

Schweinsteiger's got a touch of the Amanda Knoxs about her. Dirt, dirt, dirt.

Yeah, I get the notice point too and unless there is a good reason why this couldn't be announced earlier it does seem kind of valid. It would be nice to have a fuller explanation of what the process behind the decision was.

I'm still waiting for my taxi in Seascale. I called a firm in Whitehaven. Bloke said he didn't know where I was, so I told him just shoot all the way down the A595 & he couldn't miss me... seems like he did though.

Fair play to your missus.

One day, just once, I want the neighbour to say, "He was a right ****. A proper wrong'un".

If I had to choose two to watch licktener, it would be Schweinsteiger and Svensson.

Obviously massively annoyed but then I don't have any choice about paying my council tax and people would en masse refuse to pay it with damaging financial consequences for the local authority. In this case the difference is: 1) you have a choice 2) the club has obviously decided that it will not suffer as a result of this decision No payment plan = a bit annoying. We get it.

I used to get it badly but in recent years it has been much better. When it picks up I take Ceterizene (spelling is bound to be wrong) tablets. They work really well - much better than a nasal spray or eye drops or anything like that. I recommend them.

When we needed a five-a-side kit a few years ago we popped along to SportsSoccer or whatever those slightly pikey chain stores in town are called and got ourselves a bunch or genuine Brazil away kits for £25 a piece. Seems like a very good quality shirt by Nike and looks about as smart as a football shirt is ever going to look. I'm pretty sure if you head along to a similar shop you'll be able to get a decent quality kit at a similar price.

Very scary - if you're there. I wonder how long it will be until one of our USandA friends comes along bemoaning the fact that the people who got shot weren't "packing heat".

Can't you post a cheque to the club? That will cost about 30p. Just a thought!

I just had a look at the Exeter site out of interest. Their prices are about the same as ours. I know what represents better value IMO. Also, I wonder if it is a bit disingenuous to speak as though every club offers an installment plan? Maybe they do. Exeter are introducing one this season for the first time. Interestingly, the installment option is only available on full priced tickets - not on the cheaper renewal rates.
-
Slightly simplistic. Clubs like Exeter need to shift as many STs as possible in advance of the summer break to finance their summer trading. If that means taking a hit amortised over the cost of STs by running an installment plan in order to shift a few more then they will do so. It is clear that it appears to the club that running the installment plan would be uneconomical. Otherwise, they would run it. The alternative is that there has been some sort of mistake (which would be odd - they have access to the figures) or there is some point of principle (which would again be odd).

We should play like this IMO: ------------------Hart----------------- Glenda-----Rio------JT (****)-------A Cole ----------------King------------------ ------------Lampard------Gerrard------- Lennon-----------------------J Cole -----------------Rooney---------------- Swapping Barry in for King, Rio or JT once he's fit (and moving King back if one of the latter).
