  1. Oi! Leavemyarcealona.
  2. Noted thanks! How about wearing a perm and tache?
  3. Hi all I may be in Istanbul later in the year and was thinking of checking out a match. As far as I'm aware there are three clubs in 'bul: Galatasary, Fenerbache and Besikstas. Does anyone have any experience of going to a match at any of these? Any hints/tips, dos/don'ts/ recommendations gratefully received. Cheers!
  4. Not strictly football related but Danny Baker's show on 5Live and Fighting Talk on the same channel (both of which may be about to have a summer break but hey-ho!) are both worth checking out if you haven't already.
  5. Cool. "the best-in-class standards" now demanded by the club.
  6. Why do football commentators always use "ironic" when they mean "sarcastic"? I've never got that.
  7. Exactly, which is why the only way they can be of any value is if they go that extra mile in their analysis and actually write something worth reading or add a new slant on things. Merely rehashing information available more accessibly and freely elsewhere is a pretty duff business model.
  8. Right decent in-depth articles rather than banal pointless guff. Something that exhibits some sort of better-than-average high-school-standard ability to write? Then again, I think the Echo is probably aimed at the over 50s and the dim and that is what they seem to like.
  9. I am going to start a group called: Saints Moaning About Other Fan Groups And How Their Leaders Are Attention Seeking Muppets But Doing It In A Way That Smacks Of, "Look At Me, I Have An Ever-So-Slightly Affronted And Impressive Viewpoint On This". Or SMAOFGAHTLAASMBDIIAWTSOLAMIHAESSAAIVOT if the above is a bit of a mouthful. Stuart and Turkish are welcome to be honorary members.
  10. I think we may have been "let off" not having a CVA because we did have an agreement acceptable to the creditors, albeit not a CVA in name. Again, I may be wrong though. The requirement for a CVA is not a "gold-plating"; CVAs are genuinely **** and often not adhered to. They are seldom good news for creditors. The rules of the FL are purely designed to ensure that some sort of minimum standard of creditor satisfaction is encouraged IMO. If a Swiss billionaire turns up and says "here's a load of cash" and the creditors say "thanks, that is fine" then the notion of a CVA is a bit redundant as the PLC was not continuing to trade; its assets were sold off to Lieberr.
  11. We did not have a CVA. A CVA is a means of exiting adminstration. SLH PLC did not exit administration. I think. Actually, thinking about it, I'm not sure.
  12. Are you still discussing this? Really?
  13. Long raking balls to the opposition full-back?
  14. So many sanctimonious tossers around.
  15. If you take the "s" off and put an "a" before "decade" you would be about right.
  16. Deano, I think you speak for all of us on this. Under normal circumstances one might be forgiven for thinking that Wiltshire Saint was some sort of joker but I've actually seen him in the Plume muttering to himself about "stupid ******* posters" etc... Unbelievable!
  17. Don't beat yourselves up. By my reckoning you would need to sell out a 74,563,000 stadium to sustain Storrie's expert stewardship.
  18. Oh, furry muff. If she did say that then you're quite right to put her straight.
  19. Why are you obsessed with the likelihood of death on a job being a relevant factor? I don't think anyone involved in this has ever referred to the likelihood of death being anything whatsoever to do with this dispute.
  20. I agree that it is hard, but that's football now. Clubs like the Skates cannot afford to carry on as though they are a Premiership team when they clearly lack the capability to be so without spending wildly beyond their resources. Alternatively, they can do so and recognise that insolvency and sporting sanctions is the likely outcome and not belly-ache like imbeciles when it happens.
  21. I just wish some people would calm down a bit. There is obvioulsy a reason for the later-than-average sales. It is not some sort of whacky conspiracy. Given that just about everything associated with the new owners has, so far, been good I am perfectly happy to assume that this will also be for a good reason.
  22. Maybe their database was wrong. Imagine that eh?
  23. Yeah, this lack of two staggered payments of £250 is going to ruin so many lives.
  24. Why do you say that? It is completely untrue of 99.9% of businesses which either cover their own costs (ie make a profit - fancy that!) or use debt. The simple fact is that, absent a very rich sugar daddy, clubs with a nineteenth centruy infrastructure and minimal fan base can not afford, generally, to be genuinely competitive in the top division any more for any sustained period. This is why it is good for everyone that you have been relegated.
  25. Exactamundo. 100% spot on.
