  1. 4-0. to them, obviously.
  2. Kind of backs up the suggestion that they have not made a positive impact doesn't it? And this at a time where we have no money - you'd think we would want to strengthen the first team not fill the squad with pointless players. Then again, we have morons in charge.
  3. I'm sure that, 96 years after the event, they wouldn't be all that bothered and would have the sense to realise it was a throw-away comment on a football message board.
  4. What the hell are you talking about?
  5. I watched Forest in League 1 a few times as I was living there at the time. They, like everyone else, played "hoofball". I can't see them being that bothered if they stay up.
  6. This is quite right and whilst we had no direct control over what happened to him it is a pathetic endictment that Watford are considered the better option. Maybe our set-up is just a tad too Revolutionary ™.
  7. Is it really though? What is the point in having an entity that exists solely to continue to exist? Things can never improve with the current set-up. Frankly I reckon we'd have finished higher this year with a 10 point penalty and a better manager. We would only have to have beaten 3 of Blackpool, Barnsley, Bristol City, Watford, Sheff Wednesday at home to be in roughly the same position as we are now.
  8. That's us buggered then.
  9. Utter nonsense and no more justified than stating that "not to change now means certain relegation". In fact, given one home win in half a season, I would say it is very much less justified. "Every time the club faces a crisis the rally call is "sack the board"". No it isn't. It wasn't when the club faced a final day relegation decider last season. If it helps you to try and dismiss the manifestly fair derision that the current regime faces then continue to believe that though.
  10. We're well and truly stuffed. I will laugh when all those ****s lose their share values though.
  11. So does this mean it's better to have a manager with good contacts in the English game than an amateurish nobody? I don't get it. Rupert, please help us see the bigger picture.
  12. ....football player, who would it be? I'd go for Benayoun or Crouch I think. It certainly wouldn't be a haymaker liable to rearrange your face but you could fetch a good wedge with the story.
  13. True.
  14. Are you Washington Irvine?
  15. Just looked on the Beeb and the charge is actual bodily harm (ie. minor cuts and bruises). If guilty he'll get a fine and/or community service and possibly a suspended sentence. If the bloke sues him he'll get bog all.
  16. Hoddle?:prayer:
  17. I like him. He's entertaining. Also, I would be pretty happy if, having got relegated, we managed to recruit Glenn Hoddle. Better than what we've got now!
  18. No, I know. Sorry. I realise that looked like I was talking about you, and that wasn't the intention.
  19. I've never quite understood this line of thinking. They've won the world cup a grand total of zero times. Th entire argument seems to be based around Ajax having once won the European Cup with a young team. IMO the best way of nurturing young players is to force them to live in favelas and play football with rotting rat corpses.
  20. Because no one from Southampton FC was there were they? What are they supposed to say? "Hope the scumbag gets what he deserves"" Only a borish, block-headed dullard with an incapability of comprehending even the most basic complexities of the world around him would say that.... Oh....
  21. TBF we're at the brink of administration but we signed someone for a potential £1.2m, so if all is in fact rosey in the Pompey garden (urgh!), then £4.5m is hardly anything. Bearing in mind he's probably not on massive wonga and it will be something like £1m up front, then it's really no biggy. Anyway, you can rant all you want on a Saints forum, the fact is you've hit your peak and it will be funny watching you [slowly?] go downhill from here on in.
  22. There's no precedent because Joey Barton happens to be a footballer. It was also about the third time he'd been convicted of a similar offence if I recall correctly. Whether Gerrard gets sent down or not will depend on him being found guilty, for a start, and then on the extent of the other chap's injuries and whether there is any mitigation. To get bird for a first violent offence the injuries would have to be sufficient to constitute grievous bodily harm or there would have to be an aggravating factor such as use of a weapon. In short, unless you know the facts of what happened.... who knows?
  23. :yawinkle:
  24. FFS - start a new thread about that then instead of distorting this one. That article has NOTHING whatsoever to do with a car crash. You provoke a reaction on here from many posters. Sometimes I think the stick you take on here is unwarranted but when a thread about the death of a man and the potential ruin of another young man's life because of a fateful moment of lost-concetration is turned into a pop at Lowe because some junior dimwit has written a badly worded piece on the OS, it is time to take stock.
