  1. Yes, a life without (much) drinking and no smoking. At £40K or more per week to kick a ball around it's not unreasonable for them to keep themselves at peak fitness for 15 or so years.
  2. Austin, a goalscorer at the London Stadium, appeared particularly dishevelled as exited the club, with a drink stain clearly visible on the front of his shirt. Hope the drink stains are from his Pepsi, or from another person's beer. Professional footballers have to be in peak physical condition, which means minimal drinking and no smoking. When they retire in their mid thirties they have 40 or so more years to make up for lost time if they want. Jack Wheelchair being an exception of course, since he only has to play three matches a year.

    I'm looking forward to new posters Larry1, Larry2, ... , Larry14
  4. In your opinion. I beg to differ.
  5. This. And this.
  6. VVD amazing (as usual), Austin, Tadic, Bertrand, Fonte, Redmond, Davis all very, very good. BTW that was not a penalty on Ryan. Ball to hand, arms close to his body, and he was turning away from the shot. The good news for WHam is that their fans are so far away from the pitch that their players can't hear the booing.
  7. If only we had someone who could put in decent crosses from the right.

  9. I think all of that applied to Leicester last season. Plus Mahrez.
  10. After some Googling I finally found that this is true.
  11. Yes. A very nice transcribing of Puelish into English.
  12. Considering the injuries (Edwards in particular) taking it to the last day was quite an achievement. Shame only 1 team goes up next season.
  13. No mention of Saggy? Or maybe he would have to go into a whole new category of his own. ("Loathed/despised")
  14. Indeed, he had a decent record for us. He gets unfairly blamed for the Wigley/Saggy debacle.
  15. The Lancs v Warks match is now irrelevant since Hants dropped a bowling point. Win and we survive, don't win and it's relegation. Edit: Technically a draw would be enough to survive if Lancs win. But Lancs winning is very unlikely.
  16. He talks like a Google translation from French to English. Maybe he has a hidden device that is doing this for him? Mind you, his English is still much better than my French.
  17. I can't see Austin starting. He had a very tiring 40 minutes on Sunday.
  18. But not too hard I hope. And Charlie (and others), when you score, do us a favour and don't slide 50 feet on your knees, please. A simple fist pump along with smooches from your teammates will suffice.
  19. Very promising first day. Hants 370/6, and Warks 219 all out in their match. Another great escape still on?
  20. Great weekend. But they'll remind us that they are still in a higher position than us. Relatively speaking.
  21. Overall a very good display. 3-0 wouldn't have flattered us.
  22. Yes, but it seems doubtful that Austin can last more than 60 minutes.
  23. Cuco a winger? I like it.
  24. Great cross by Ryan. Are you watching Cedric?
