If that's true then his first today (which was his 4th of the season) gets taken off his season's tally. Which opens the door for someone to take a tactical second yellow late in the game if he was going to be rested in the next game anyway. Mane

VVD = Class

With all their injuries I think they're probably dreading it.

I read he'll get a £30m payoff. I wish I was a dead man walking like him.

[h=3]Southampton v Bournemouth (16:00 GMT)[/h]Southampton are on a good run and are steadily climbing the table after a slow start and it is difficult to see Bournemouth upsetting them here. The problem for the Cherries is that they are racking up defeat after defeat but they are not going to change the way they play. Away from home, I don't know where the goals are going to come from for Eddie Howe's team and, defensively, they are not good enough to keep a clean sheet. Lawro's prediction: 2-0 Sam's prediction: Bournemouth to bounce back from a couple of heavy defeats. 1-2
-
True, but they are both (until recently) very big and successful clubs, so there probably isn't the intense hatred that comes from one side knowing (deep down) that their club's completely inferior to the other.
-
And they're still our back up goalies. Boruc > Gazza/KD
-
If he doesn't "do a Boruc" he's more than capable of playing a blinder. We all know of his capabilities (good and bad). I'm sure he'll be pumped up for this game. 8-0 would be nice, but I'll be happy with a 1-0.

The ref gave away the penalty for a perfectly good tackle. VVD wisely avoided a yellow by not remonstrating too much, knowing that there were only a few seconds left.

****ing assistant ref.

Saints V Villa Build Up Thread Capital One Cup
Dark Munster replied to Stepgar's topic in The Saints
All true, but if Stek gets injured we're ****ed. He was touch and go starting yesterday, so if he's not 100% fit I wouldn't risk playing him. Instead put the lesser of the other 2 evils in goal, and play the strongest outfield 10 in front of him. -
CONFIRMED: Cédric to Saints on four-year deal
Dark Munster replied to JxgrSaint's topic in The Saints
I thought he was excellent yesterday. I voted him Motm. -
Actually, it could be a genius sending off. a) He possibly would have been rested against Villa anyway, and b) Instead of having one yellow added to his season's tally, he gets none. I'm not sure if I'm right about b) (please correct me if I'm wrong). But if I am wrong and the 2 yellows do add to his season's tally, that would be unfair, given that they also count as a red and a one match ban. Edit: Maybe the first is added to the season tally but not the second?
-
I think most would disagree with that. I certainly do.
-
Could've been worse: They gave Boruc 1/10.

Seems a bit of a teacher's pet selection to me. But in Ronnie we trust, I suppose.

Oh, oh. He's not going to be very happy. Can't wait for his reaction. [video=youtube;-8FZA5Uav6A]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8FZA5Uav6A

Klopp's Sloppy Kop Flops are Stopped, Chopped Down and Bopped by Top Saints.

Same with me. Unlike Spurs I have nothing against Liverpool as a club, now that Brenda's gone. But of course in the unlikely event Lovren plays I hope he gets a hat trick. Of own goals.
-
But that's the whole point. The club should have ponied up for a decent PL quality back up keeper. Not a top class keeper, but a solid back up. Just like virtually every other PL club has been able to do. And no, Stek isn't our current back up. He's our number 1 at least until the new year, and very possibly the whole season.

We should be fifth in the league right now...
Dark Munster replied to Maggie May's topic in The Saints
Maybe we should give the benefit of the doubt that so22 meant the dark periods of Branfoot and Administration. Certainly plenty of great days in between (and after!)
