Not to mention a card or two!

If my auntie had sat on her left testicle she'd be my uncle.

Not quite sure about that.

Glamorgan and Essex both won in YB 40 today, and Essex now have a higher net rr. So a loss against Derbyshire means we will finish second in group B (unless Essex v. Lancs is a washout). If we finish second, we can only qualify if Glamorgan in group C lose their last match AND one of Notts and Northants in group A lose their last matches (all of these 3 matches are against eliminated teams). All of this would probably be moot if we hadn't lost 3 key players against Lancs. Current table: http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/series/592757.html?view=pointstable

I'm confused. Should we be distressed that Cardiff won, or happy that Citeh lost? Last season it was a no-brainer that we wanted relegation candidates to lose.

Post Match Reaction & MotM: SAINTS 1-1 Sunderland

Oi, how come you aren't wondering what those who predicted 0-0 are thinking? -
This has 0-0 written all over it. For the first 5 minutes at least.

Lost by 5 runs. If we don't qualify because of the Mickey Mouse friendly heads should roll.

No NC = no Markus = no money from him or from Sky.

Even though I disagreed when he cruelly dumped Nigel, I felt he had every right to make (what I thought at the time) a wrong decision: as Markus made it clear, he (Markus) would not have even considered buying Saints if it were not for Nicola. Without NC we'd probably be swimming with the skates (well maybe not quite that low, but near enough). When he was considering his future at Saints during the summer, I was pleased to see the poll here gave him over 90% support. What NC has orchestrated so far is incredible.

Yes, but if he's in the stands trying to shout encouragement to his team, it's important to gag him to keep him quiet.

Fourpast II ?

Essex too: they can finish on 16 points with a higher net rr. Groups A and C have teams that could finish second on 16 points or higher. So a loss against Lancs could make the last match (against Derbyshire) a must-win. The bottom line it's ridiculous that England can choose players for a Mickey Mouse friendly from any of the 8 teams having a competitive match the same day. Fortunately today Hants practiced winning without Carberry and Vince batting.

Don't particularly like the man, but I think he's spot on here. Meanwhile, Holloway has hit out at the state of the transfer market as he prepares Palace for their return to the Premier League. The former Blackpool boss wrote in his Sunday Mirror column: "The wages being asked when I was last in the top flight were mind-blowing. Now they are just plain crazy. "It's no longer a transfer market. It's a meat market - with vultures that like to call themselves agents picking the game down to its bare bones. "I have lost count of the number of players we have been offered since we hit a £100million jackpot with our play-off win over Watford. Many agents seem to believe that money belongs to them by right. Some approach you, claiming to have a mandate to work on behalf of players and the clubs that are selling them. In reality, most of the time, they have no agreement in place and are just chancing their arm. "A few times, we have been offered players who we are interested in - only for fees and wage demands to double or treble once negotiations begin. It has been very frustrating because we need to give ourselves a fighting chance and are still short of quality and numbers. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/165/8865681/holloway-hopes-to-help-chamakh

Beat Essex today in a low scoring match. Second in their group, with a match in hand. But only 4 teams qualify from the 3 groups, so the game against Lancashire could be vital.
