Well i would assume he is on more than our players who are paid 1-10k a week. Which works our at 500k over a year. I wouldn't be surprised if he was on more than £1m a year. Though probably with bonuses as some have said. Can't really look at his scunny wages as they are a poor club and he was completely unknown when he took over.

Perhaps the strange timing of this decision has been dictated by Nicola's prefered candidate becoming available rather than anything Pardew has done or team results. Saying that it could quite easily have been Pardew demanding more money for transfers or wanting to speak to another club. I guess we'll never know.

I think Liebherr on the shirts for the next game is a good idea. However naming stands after him doesn't seem to do him justice. I think a good idea would be a fan made banner like those at Liverpool and elsewhere with his picture on it. Perhaps with the JPT and any other trophies we win as a result of him surrounding. It'd be something we could take to every game home and away and any wembley finals in the future. A sort of 'he's with us' tribute rather than something stationary and official.

Connelly's Irish? Another one for the list but it doesn't really matter. Quality of player is more important than nationality. Barcelona didn't turn Messi away for not being Catalonian.

I think the most interesting thing was when one of their fans claimed they had the best squad since relegation from the premiership in 2000. How does that work then? A team gets their best players not in the championship but in league one? Sounds unlikely. Also they may have names and a very strong squad but all of those players will want to play every week and when they realise they cannot there will be unrest. In the end their huge squad will cost them. Quantity over quality I would suggest is Alan Irvine's motto for transfer activity.

It's not as if we're desperate for the income seeing as we're already making a huge loss every month. Are you not being a bit impatient? So they don't set season ticket prices at the same time, isn't that the difference in management styles more than anything. I doubt they are deliberately keeping you in the dark. The season starts in mid august that gives them around 3 months to launch season tickets and you're worrying now? It's amazing how a little change can shake some people up.

Love the way everyone is getting so worked up over a few little things like season tickets and programmes. They don't mean anything and if they did they'll say in due course. Cortese is trying to build a successful club and as fans we need to accept we can't know everything about the club and it's reasons. That's modern football. I personally have complete faith that Cortese knows what he's doing and trust him with our club. As for the feel good factor going, surely that's because we didn't make the play offs and nothing to do with management. If they came out tomorrow and said we were going to build a new stadium then we'd all be happy as larry again.

Thought he looked quite good in the first half hour before drifting off at half time. Had a couple of good chances which he missed, yes, but did create himself. Was very impressed with some of his movement today and at points Martin really struggled to cope. Shows the cort of quality our academy produces.

Thought Martin was solid today except for a couple of times when Paterson dropped deep and he didn't know whether to follow him or stay in line. Easy to work on that though so looks good for the future. OC looks ok. Not seen anything yet really though.

Not particularly bothered either way tbh. If he's stays that's fine but we could get better managers with the money we've got. You've got to ask though 'what's Pardew done that no other manager could have done in the same situation?' Imo not that much more.

It was 1.2m euros not pounds and it was definitely divided up for appearances and such. Doubt Arsenal would be that interested in him tbh. The youngsters they have are much better imo.

Did ok for his first game. Seemed to want the ball alot and made one good tackle that won us the ball back and lead to a shot. Looks a decent prospect.

1. Lambert. Not even a doubt there. 2. Fonte - because we were pants before he arrived. 3. Schneiderlin - Has been quality in a league we all thought he would struggle with and i think he's surprised alot of people. Possibly Hammond, Lallana, Jaidi, james, Davis and Bart could all be in there 2. All added something this season when most needed or looked solid consistently.

Yh of course because no fan would defend a player like that. :/

Yh i've noticed on here. Not fair at all. In terms of Gillett i think Pardew doesn't like his attitude. Not a skill thing. 7 instances of him losing the ball? I don't think it's his fault half our players can't trap a ball within 10 yards. You can see the players in our team who have been taught properly. Lallana, James, Gillett and various other young players before they all left. Seems like we're the only club teaching them this.

Why is everyone having a go at Lloyd James all of a sudden? He's carrying the injury from January but pulls himself through to play. The whole time he was on the pitch we were in control of the midfield, something we were unable to do in the first half or after he was taken off, and he made some good simple passes. There was a fantastic one across the pitch to puncheon that was so good he could bring it down in one touch. The sort of passing we can only dream of from Paul 'sack of potatoes' Wotton. Worst decision of the match imo for Pardew to take him off and try and replace him with Puncheon who is so clearly not a CM. How's that gonna do his confidence which must already be dented from being second choice behind wotton.
