Let's have some names of potential new owners then...

you're having a giraffe! Rupert in the stands? The police wouldn't allow it.
-
exactly my thoughts too.

interesting idea. would have to split the money with them though. To be honest i am not sure how many would turn up if it was just a friendly.
-
The fact that the club has jsut launched the Fans' Parliament is a tad weird methinks. Anyone know what will become of this idea now?
-
not sure the administrator will accept dollars.
-
******. You and I both know that it is not a new league at all. Semantics like "founding members" are meaningless. It was all hype and spin. So when we dropped out of the Prem did we retain our 1/20th ownership? No, did we ****. Castles in the sky is all it is. There was genuine talk of a new european league being formed with the biggest and richest clubs from all over europe leaving the auspices of their national FAs and setting up completely fresh, but it never got anywhere.
-
That has got be a joke, right? It is still a member of the FA league system. It is still fully regulated by the FA. Teams enter and exit the league in the same way and only from/to the Championship. It was nothing other than a rebranding exercise.
-
give over. The days of protesting are over. Lowe and his chums have left for good this time. Now we need to fill the stadium.
-
Red n White Saints I mentioned a while ago that if the worst case does happen and SFC is wound up for good then it would be possible to buy the 'brand name' SFC and club badge and carry on as before.
-
Nonsense. They do still exist. Just because they get rebranded as the Premiership, Championship etc it doesn't change the fact that: Premierhsip = Division 1 Championship = Division 2 Division 1 = Division 3 etc. The whole problem with money in football started with the rebranding.
-
they might have no choice soon.
-
The rot set in with idiotic wage bills and unrealistic assumptions of how good the players were. The sadness is that we are not the only club in this situation. Football has been destroyed by greed. Find a buyer, accept that we are in division 3 next season if the club is still around at all. The top flight is not on the horizon for many, many years. (and by top flight I mean the top half of Division 1) SFC, Football, Lowe: just another example of capitalism failing.
-
would never work. can you imagine two of the most bitter rivals in football playing in the same stadium? Especially as the stadium is actually in Southampton. neutral ground, possibly, but not at SMS. Best thing is to get rugby, or other non-league clubs to play

SOUTHAMPTON TILL I DIE. sign below. Let's get as many of us as possible to sign. Show of support and keep our morale up (sticky?)
-
Definition of despair: Try and sell a football club struggling at the bottom of the table with huge debts during the Second Great Depression. And do it all in 24 days. SOUTHAMPTON TILL I DIE
-
true - but it must be sold for a fair market rate. Otherwise anyone could just set up a business, load it up with debt, buy something useful, flog the asset to your best mate for 50p and then fold the main business. That would be called fraud in my book!
-
As I understand it the football club is a 100% owned asset of the PLC, in which case it will be fully under the control of the administrators. As for not getting points deducted, I would reckon that the FA would have foreseen this eventuality and I can't see how we couldn't get points knocked off.

Seriously, I had a dream last night. It was one of those ones where you try really hard to get somewhere but your dream keeps on relocating you somewhere else. It was saturday and I was attempting to get to the Charlton game but everytime I got to the outskirts of Southampton my sub-conscious relocated me to another city. First I went to Birmingham (which can be explained because I went to the recent Brum game) then I went to New York (don't ask), then to Glasgow where I was hovering over a Celtic game (obviously Strachan related) and then I ended up in Portsmouth. It was at that point that I woke up - thank God. Spooky though, given that I hadn't heard that the shares had been suspended until after waking. I hope this isn't a bad omen for Saturday...

Leeds did it in times of prosperity. Don't get me wrong, I am all for the council buying the stadium and the club paying market rates to rent it back. I just don't believe any FD would approve it at this time. Also debatable whether the council has that kind of cash lying around.
-
absolutely correct. For the council to buy the stadium in this current time would be political suicide

At last, some common sense at the club. Tuesday night game, severe recession, freezing cold. DUHHHHHH reduce the frickin ticket price!!! .. the trick is you got to find a complicit ST holder to get you the bargain price.... Well, ok, I will make myself available from 6pm-6.30pm. Not a minute longer, because i need a few beers before the game. I will be standing in front of Ted from 6-6.30. I will not be obviously obvious, but I will be standing literally inches in front of Ted. Seriously, come to the game, if the Lowe Stazzi catch on then screw them... See you in front of Ted at 6pm tomorrow evening. Password: "Ted's last name" Really, this is not a **** take. I'll be there. We need as many in the ground as possible. EDIT: Any tickets I get on behalf of others will be in the immediate vicinity of my seat so you had better behave.. EDIT(2): I am not, and never will, tout tickets at our club. You walk up to the ticket window with me, and hand over your own £5, at my introduction.
