which would be fine with me...

Who would be opposed to Mary Corbett being the club's chairman? Why not? Family connections a-plenty, true fan, and Delia has set the precedent for the fairer-sex. To be honest having a skirt at the head of the board table might have a unifying experience, an antidote to testosterone-rich business men...

No. No. No. That being said, I have never actually met the bloke. For all I know he might just be an arrogant t()sser when he is in business mode but a really stand up kinda guy down the wine-bar. Although some how I doubt it.

Sorry, but I don't like this idea. As I indicated on the other thread the idea of walking out at the begining of a game would be really insulting to the players. Our protests should be only against the suits, not the team (or incumbent manager). Just think how it would be if you got yourself all ready to go out and win, you run onto the pitch and then see a lot of the fans get up and walk out? Sorry, but I think this is a bad plan and as such I will not be joining in. March to the ground, yes. Walk out on the team when they need our support the most is not on. .. but I support your motives. Just not your method.

just a wee thought... ... perhaps we should all wait and see if these accusations are true before we burn the lads in question at the stake. Something to do with innocent until proven guilty. (the reason incidentaly that I don't join in with the baying hounds when they start singing "BWP he robs from the skates..." as he was completely aquitted of any crime and therefore did not in fact rob from the skates.) -

Saints Greatest XI - The Best Managers Poll
1976_Child replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
How come we don't get to vote for Jan Poortvliet? Easily better than Ted et al. -
you're right, I meant his company...

nice find. explains a lot. So Wilde is basically bankrupt? Interesting times. A lot of pigeons come home to roost during a recession. Suddenly castles in the sky replace so-called "solid" businesses. I take no pleasure in hearing about his company though. Been there, done that.
-
spot on. Chelski owe Abramovitch something like £500 million. Ok when his aluminium plants are churning the stuff out but suddenly no one wants to buy aluminium because the car and construction markets have tanked and suddenly being half a billion down due to your under-performing football club is not such a happy thing. Still. No way he could sell chelsea at the moment and get his dosh back. unless another Arab wants a punt. But then the price of a barrel of oil has plumetted too.

I think there are similarities between footy managers and bankers. Bankers bonuses are in the news at the minute because they have been getting gazzillions of pounds for so-called short term success rather than building their businesses over time. Same can be said of managers: everything is on the short term. there is a reason Sir Fergie has built the world's best team which consistently wins everything and that is because he has been at manure since 1882! Jam today mentality...

i tell you what, the chicken curry in the supporters club before the Shefield game was fantastic. really good.

Relegation date? ummm... from which division? I reckon this time next year we will be mathematically in the conference. The FA will fine us two leagues worth of points for having a knob-head of a chairduck.
-
news flash...this just in... The best players in the land have two feet
-
eg Bournemouth? Dunno. i am guessing that under normal circumstances they would not like it but seeing as it is Traitor-knapp then anything is possible...
-
Just to be nit-picky but it is not illegal for one bloke to own two football clubs. It is however, and rightly so, against FA rules. So one bloke could own two football clubs but he would not be able to enter them both into the FA leagues. But there is nothing illegal about it. Nits being picked. Either way the original rumour is just pure tosh... EDIT: I guess it is therefore "il-league-al" !!

eh?

surely Milan will get him first?!
