Charlie isn't the fastest player, and because of this he has to live right on the edge of the Offside rule to get as much headstart on the defenders as possible. I think it's just taking a bit more time for his teammates to adjust to this.

Good summary, I thought we looked excellent in the first 20 mins, but doubt crept in quickly and of course the players are only just getting used to this new formation. When changes are needed in the match in response to the other team/situations, the players haven't got the knowledge of the new systems to do this yet whilst maintaining momentum. Worth persisting with, and if it does come off then I think we'll be looking at some great football from the team, likely even better than under potchettino. I'm for our current model, and I hope to see our youngsters brought into the first team. Wouldn't it be great to develop an holy Trinity like man u had once, from our academy. This reminds me of when I was working with a surgeon once. I think we need at least 1 more high energy/stamina plate for the "shuttle runner" position of the diamond. Davis is well suited to one side, but looked a bit off his usual standard against man u. I can't think of anyone else in the current squad who really fits this role. Up front we already have 2 pacey players in long and redmond, and if j rod returns up to his previous standard then he is perfect for this role; thus I'm not expecting anyone else up front.
