Weird as i dreamt of 6-3 with AL scoring first.

After the game we all rode our bikes up to the bridge across the motorway and watched all the cars and coaches coming home. It was brilliant as all the cars honked their horns and flashed their lights. At the age of six it felt like the whole world was Southampton Football Club.

I watched the 76 cup final on the telly in our front room of our terraced house.The room was filled with all the local kids as we had the only colour telly in the close. I will never forget the sight of the guy from number three running around the back yard screaming they've done it at the top of his voice when we scored.He had tears streaming down his face as he ran.The whole screaming episode continued when the final whistle went but with most of the adult population of the close joining in. I saw this guy again today for the first time in twenty years and it sparked off a memory lane ramble. Where did others watch the game and got any memories to share of that great day.I have seen all the clips of the bus tours etc but just wanted to see if others can remember any odd ball moments from the day.

I do hope Steve Moran appears in the Fratton Park Legends Tour.

For years we have missed a midfielder who puts the boot in when needed. Wooton is no Jimmy Case but he has a ****ing good go.We have had too many limp wristed midfielders in the past.We are in league one and need someone who is not a pretty boy footballer but someone who can kick people up in to win the ball and then lay it off. Wooton is no whipping boy in my mind only in the mind of people who gave up going because they did not like the football last season.

We are not going to be able to play a certain system every week.AP started today with a formation that created plenty of chances but we did not put away. At last AP will change the team when things are not going our way.Previous regimes would have just stuck with it and hoped for the best.
