  1. This. Based on the Carry On films I've seen, most nurses wear sexy stockings and suspenders under their outerwear, so why not a cross as well?
  2. Thats correct, but if you have a caller-display phone (which most of them are nowadays,) at least you can be prepared to tell them what for. The only flaw in this is that a lot of people phone via skype, which can be routed through foreign networks depending on where the broadband costs are lowest at the moment they call you, so it could still be a customer calling you showing up as international. The other thing is to check your website. If a phone number is displayed you will get spam calls all the time, and I dont think there's any way round that. I stemmed the flood of automated emails by taking the email address off the site and replacing it with a drop-down form, but the phone calls still come at a rate of knots. Just had one in fact, some bird with an indian accent who was "from microsoft. There is a problem with your computer. Can you switch it on and tell me the passwords, please?" ffs. I get these calls at least a dozen times a day.
  3. I was going to take the plss out of the paralympics blind football today. But as a keen Portsmouth season ticket holder, I must admit it's nice to watch some quality for a change.
  4. Fantastic news!! So I can ignore the credit card bills and forget what the doctor said about drinking less and quitting the smokes. Plus, the tax return isn't due til January so I dont have to bother with this years accounts. Result!
  5. When someone who has posted only 144 times in almost 6 years bothers to say something, its worth listening. Good post.
  6. This. If your caller display shows "international" or "unavailable", be prepared to swiftly tell'em to do one.
  7. yesterdays fish and chip paper, who cares.
  8. Yes, hence this thread.... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?39913-Fit-to-Wear-the-Shirt This one will run and run
  9. Agreed. Plus, whatever the duckhunter says, look at the unelectable cannon fodder labour put up against thatcher. Kinnock?? ffs
  10. Plain wrong. Bush senior took a deliberate decision to finish off the war, but to leave saddam in place. It wasn't a case of "oh, we can't possibly fire on retreating armies", which was the ludicrous line that was trotted out. It was not a "peaceful option", it happened to suit western interests at that time. As for bush junior, it is simply inconceivable that he, or blair for that matter, could possibly have believed that saddam's mythical arsenal of WMD were about to wipe us out. After the first gulf war, Iraq was more closely monitored as a potential threat than any country in history. The top man in charge of monitoring Iraq's weapons capability knew that, plus he knew that the top brass knew it as well, and he paid for that knowledge with his life.
  11. Watching the paralympics has taught me so much about acceptance of other peoples different abilities but, but, but.... If I have discovered they can lift more, throw further and run faster than me, how come they still get to park closer to Tesco?..
  12. Stop putting yourself down, you're not that bad....
  13. Why? Have you seen Yoshida play, other than youtube links?
  14. This. How could anybody on here know that the Ramirez fee emptied the spending pot? Was anyone expecting us to sign him at all, for that sort of money and those sort of wages? Its entirely possible that there were defensive targets lined up as well as Yoshido, and that there was money available to buy them if they could be persuaded to join us. Playing for SFC isn't actually compulsory, as the Buttner no-deal showed. Maybe the defensive targets just didn't fancy signing here for whatever reason. Clyne is a decent signing, Yoshido I know nothing about but I assume the management team rate him, its not as if we haven't strengthened defence at all.
  15. Thats a pity, I was going to ask you for a quote. Anyway, I trust you manned up and told her to do it herself?

  17. ...which would have been 10 if SKD hadnt saved two penalties......

Thats harsh on the lad, just arrived etc etc, but I did mention exactly that to a mate earlier after the game, did he actually even get a touch on the ball? J Rod looked pretty anonymous to me as well. I can see the thinking, SRL did look shattered, but cant see the reasoning behind bringing off AL. Oh well, at least it wasn't the tonking some of us were expecting. Onwards and upwards, COYR.....
  20. Just texted that to someone funnily enough, he had a really good game.
  21. Four goals against the champions and runners up, played well in both games, nul points, its a cruel game. Lino and ref did us no favours at all incidentally.
  22. If Cortese had ever entertained that idea he would have done it before the window closed. Redknapp is the diametric opposite of everything Cortese is trying to achieve; young players to be developed into a financially stable club. Redknapp wouldn't understand the words "financial stability" even if he wasn't dyslexic. His MO has always been the late loan deal and ludicrous wages, he simply could not function in the setup Cortese has put in place.
  23. Tutu is a grade-a c*nt, but his c*ntishness doesnt begin to approach that of bush and blair. It should be obvious to anybody outside America that the iraq invasion was a "community chest" card, played while the US had a free hand politically. Bush said as much when he was re-elected, "I have political capital and I intend to spend it". And spend it he did. If I thought for a second that blair or bush genuinely believed that saddam hussein's iraq posed a direct threat to the west I would be terrified. But I'm not, because they didn't.
  24. "WW2 bomber found on the moon" moment? Lets hope so. I couldn't bear the notion of redknapp returning here.
