I'd agree with all of that. What's also getting stupid is the pc stance of the fa (abetted by the clubs) censoring what gets sung. All the stuff yesterday about lukaku, was he really offended by that? And the Brighton chants, are we supposed to qualify "does your boyfriend know you're here" by adding "of course he does as a loving lgbt/gender-fluid relationship is just as valid as a heterosexual one"? A lot of atmosphere has flown out of football stadiums in the name of middle class good taste and duckhunter's right, it ain't coming back.

I keep hearing this line, that he walked after promising to stay etc.... I realise there will have been an element of spin from the boardroom when they implied that they weren't particularly bothered if he left, but has everyone dismissed that possibility entirely? I'm curious because it struck me at the time that there seemed to have been almost no public effort made to persuade him to stay on.
