To be honest mate, I would much rather hear the view of the suicide brigade (who know that a massive club like us such never lose game in this league), than to people who actually attended the game.

Me and the missus went to a really nice restaurant called the olive tree (this will be a hit with the wife) which is under an amazing boutique hotel that I can't remember the name of. Other than that the Thermae/Roman are deffo worth a visit. The comedy tour is also great and good value.

I think we do have more than our fair share of moronic fans although fans of other clubs do say the same thing. Imagine how bad it must be at Stamford Bridge, sat with the coach load from Guildford. I think the problem with Turkish is that he wants us to be like West Ham or Millwall, it just isn't gonna happen due to the fact that Essex/Bermondsey are sh*t holes, filled with aggresive bald, gold obsessed morons. Southampton is quite nice in comparison. TBF though, the posts on women at football were funny, perceptive and deffo touch a nerve.

We are a family club. Anyone who wants us to be like West Ham, Millwall or Leeds really is a deluded moron. Maybe if you and your little oik's get your act together we can rival someone like Norwich one day.
-
Ha ha. What a shame for our wannabe hoolies and the 'yoof'. Family club, always will be. Surely the Skates are pound for pound the worst, looking at attendances etc.

Opposition fans let out at the same time as home supporters....
Danny R replied to Redbul's topic in The Saints
Obviously there would be people who are still 'up for it' as you say. However, holding the away fans in does give the police the chance to disperse the crowd and also gives fans a chance to calm down / rather than immediately facing their rivals straight after the final whistle. It definately helped us at Fratton in the 1-0 game as they were not able to get near to us, bearing in mind there were more people outside the ground waiting than inside. -
To be fair on Bournemouth, I would hate Saints if I lived there and the locals would go to St Mary's rather than go to Dean Court (when in the Prem).
-
Sounded like a good hard earned point and we could have nicked it at the end. I would have taken 5 points from the last 3 games with 1 conceded after our confidence looked shot at MK. Big game now on Saturday. COYS
-
I agree with this. It's really apparent why this should happen when you sit away from the Northam and just see a couple of blocks of the whole ground singing. This may also dilute the moron element ?!?
-
I miss Fabrice, I still still think if Redknapp would have played him, we would have stayed up.
-
I'm glad you've finally dropped your mockney wannabe accent
-
This.... PLEASE DO NOT SOD OFF MORGAN
-
Disgraceful, you should only support the team when we're winning!
-
This. I don't know much about the nipper but he must be better than an unfit Ricky.
-
It was so blatent even from our end. It was also never a free kick. Hopefully NA will at least kick up a fuss on the sidelines so the ref knows he's being a 'homer'.
-
No chance, this is Saints, when do we ever follow the norm. I think we will play really well but lose. Probably to another dodgy refereeing decision.

The lead singers mother?

Excellent post, 100% true.

This..... If anyone needed a reminder of how moronic and deluded our fanbase is, thinking M o' N was coming was certainly itt. NA looks like a fantastic appointment.
-
I can't see that is true -they would have had to start the consultancy process for redundancy if that is the case and I'm sure someone would have noticed this before.
-
This will certainly be no walk in the park. They had a fantastic result last week and play football the right way, which may or not suit us. I don't see any evidence to suggest that they will 'park the bus' other than our fans stupid superiority complex. If I were Rochdale, I would fancy winning this one, especially if the crowd get on the players backs - which they undoubtedly will. Heart : Comfortable 2-0 win. Head: Comfortable 0-2 defeat.
-
The best one I heard: When we relegated Millwall and a few horrible meathead ****neys were walking towards the ground moaning that they asked some Saints fans where the away pub was and were sent to H2O is Bevois Valley, which was a gay bar in those days. Needless to day, they were disgusted by what they saw - probably just a man in a vest. Brilliant.
-
Fair point, please replace hampshire accent with Southampton 'townie' accent, which is still very different to mockney. TBF, Northerners think all southern sounds the same, just as most southerners wouldn't know some different northern dialects, so that point is irrelevant. Also, surely we can agree on one thing....that Danny Dyer is a moron?
-
Great thread, this really is something that annoys me too. The (west) hampshire accent is great and something to be proud of, anyone who cringes when hearing it can go and support the real mockney's daaan the road. Anyone who would choose to speak like a ****ney (usually after watching lock stock or worse; any film by the oxygen thief Danny Dyer) should be shot. Hopefully, the Hampshire accent will laaaaast forever.

I almost cry when even thinking about this film! My favourite film of all time.
