  1. Chambers has been great, but perhaps Clyne links up better with the midfield and Lambert, he looks for the inside pass more, although Chambers is more powerful going forward. Two great players but my preference would be Clyne.
  2. Baines is being rested. Shaw and Cole probably a half each.

Difficult to assess a players performance from the tv. Never get to see the runs and delayed passes. Tv accentuates the good and the bad. Ok, I've been rumbled. I don't criticize Sir Rickie. His chest down for Lallana was class.

the manager sees him play every day and obviously thinks he is ready and good enough. Your posts obviously doubts the very essence of the academy. We are not winning games at the present so everyone is an easy target. We bought Osvaldo who had experience, and what a tool he turned out to be.
  5. "The Hammers Doth protest to much, methinks". And no, whatever they mayave sayeth, they doth the world cup winneth not.
  6. I remember a few from decades ago. Rum Runners; The Centre; Spa Tavern; The West Indian Club. And there was a club that let you in with jeans that played great 80's music, the Clash etc. which I 've forgotten the name of.
  7. Success in the Premiership is determined by the money you have available. That much is certain. And that is backed up by the stability behind the scenes. Cortese went from villain to hero because of our success, but the real success is our players and academy and he just instilled a stability. Look at league 2, the deferential between teams and position from top to bottom is minimal, due to finances not being involved and being more equal. You can look at any model in any country and it all boils down to finances. We are in a halcyon period. Don't knock it. We are supporting the saints and we are 8th in the best league in the world. I'm happy enough.
  8. 48 and now 49 posts about nothing. Good night happy posters.
  9. Our league position and performance is without question. It's the FA cup I have a problem with.
  10. A connection with what the fans want and the ethos of the club and it's history rather than the business objectives. Sacking the manager is obviously madness, because this is the best saints team I've seen generally in my life time. But we could have been in the hat for the quarter finals if he had picked his first 11. Simple logic.
  11. Sorry, but what does this mean?
  12. Can you read? Where did I say he was to blame for today's result. Your mis-understanding of a simple sentence is beyond comprehension. I'm responding to the post not todays game.
  13. He's one of those players you just like despite his howlers. Just out of his depth in the prem. No shame in that. Shame on MP for not playing Fonte.
  14. This sums it up for me, Any post saying other is wrong. IMO.
  15. Chelsea put out probably their best possible team today and lost, yes that does happen. If we had lost with our best possible team then there would be no issue. But MP didn't do that.
  16. Maybe so, but a "pretty strong side" wasn't enough, we should have played our strongest side and won the game early. Both Jos and Yoshida are Championship players and only kept half decent when alongside Fonte or Lovren. Gully will be existing in the summer so just a nonsense to play him. And just playing Lambert as a lone striker was a mistake as was subbing Lallana for McQueen, surely the approach should be the other way around if at all. A debutant coming on to save the day:lol:
  17. IMO I thought they were quite good against us at the Cottage. It was just Boruc who kept us in it the first half and their ageing squad that we picked apart in the second half. They were brilliant against Manure and Sidwell was outstanding, I would have him in our team above any Manure midfielder anyday. I think the age and the lack of legs in the team was their problem and RM was addressing that. The new ex Bayern coach I hope will keep them up as it's a great place to go away to.
  18. If all the shell suits in Portsmouth rubbed together for 2 minutes you could light Fratton Park for 90 minutes. Fact.
  19. I went to Weymouth away in the early 80's in a friendly and we had more than 500. It was many moons ago so my memory is bad but was there a serious injury to a saints player in that game? And yes before you jump on me I've not been to many away games.
  20. It's probably all the methane he's been breathing in from the cow turds on his farm. Someone needs to get him some oxygen, he's got it bad.
  21. Very, very sad news.
  22. Absolutely, a true saints legend.
  23. Not a chance. High risk of being relegated and getting spanked by Man city in the cup! No thanks. Before long we will start turning into Arsenal fans, that expectation of winning trophies hangs deep.
