TBF, they managed to do alright without having to resort to a Facebook group.

I thought he was brilliant tonight. Well worth his standing ovation. He made far more tackles than a forward has the right to. Harassed defenders to win plenty of throws and corners. And he didn't just get an assist, but put the ball on a silver platter and asked Lambert what condiments he wanted with that goal.

Up until about ten years, CRT computer monitors would run in interlaced mode to display at a higher resolution than they could normally achieve. The downside was a very noticable flicker, especially if you caught the screen out of the corner of your eye. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interlace

...unless it breaks after the 12 month warranty has expired and you can't find the spares for love nor money.

Noisy, out of focus and under-exposed? Sorry. Just the photographer in me coming out. I appreciate the time taken to upload the pics when there's drinking to be done.

Maybe they're really not that bothered about the extra five seconds they'll gain as it only means having to wait at the next set of lights for five seconds longer?

There were definitely cars in 1984. My brother bought an Astra GTE.

I think it's a good idea tbh. It will encourage people to not bother making unnecessary journeys, reducing congestion and pollution, and in a way we're already paying tax on how far we drive given that something stupid like four fifths of fuel costs goes straight to the Revenue. People already pay less on some insurance policies for keeping their mileage below predetermined annual limits. On the Tracker front, I had a Vehicle Asset Management unit fitted about a year ago to my company car and I was somewhat peeved as I took it as implying mistrust and snooping on my whereabouts, but to be honest, I don't take the p*ss so it's really not an issue. In fact, it's proved to be an invaluable tool as it allows me to accurately fill in timesheets weeks after the event and looks like it may provide the evidence to save my company going to court. The only issue as I see it is that it's a piece of p*ss to jam the GPS signal that the Tracker VAM relies upon with a £20 unit bought from eBay. VAM is different from the Stolen Vehicle Recovery which the police monitor as that works on VHF radio transmissions.

Ask yourself, why do they need £450 up front?

Brilliant. Anyone got the "other pussy" one?

Should be good for digging out my garden tomorrow then. They will lose. Narrowly, but they will lose. That's all Bath seem capable of this season.

I had no idea we were playing them, but then again I was the same for most of the qualifiers.

Yes, very much so. The vast majority of the Chinese population speak Mandarin and the government is trying to unify the nation into speaking a single language. Most of the Chinese native to England descend from Hong Kong, so speak Cantonese. The exceptions tends to be university students from mainland China and Taiwan who will, on the whole, speak Mandarin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_language Twenty years ago, you would have mainly heard Cantonese and English spoken in Hong Kong, but since the 1997 handover, Mandarin is being taught in schools as the second language. Nowadays, public announcements tend to be made in all three tongues. The difficulty for a foreigner trying to learn spoken Chinese is mastering the tone since all Chinese characters are one of only 400 syllables. http://www.wku.edu/~shizhen.gao/Chinese101/pinyin/tones.htm This is why I can understand quite a bit, but unable to make myself understood when I try and repeat it.

I can understand a small amount of Cantonese. Just as everyone's starting to learn Mandarin. Booooooooooooooooooooo......

The missus and I went to La Tasca at Gunwharf on Monday and it was excellent. They have an eat-all-you-can deal for a tenner and we were lucky because it only runs from Sunday to Tuesday and before 9pm, but doesn't make that clear on the Website. They were busy and told the wait for a table would be about half an hour but it was over an hour before we were seated, so the manageress gave us a jug of Sangria on the house.
