  1. Can't wait. "Dubai Phil's red and white Army" "He's bald, he's broke. Its Fordy from Fair Oak." etc.etc.
  2. Glad to see you took my advice last week and went on holiday. Hopefully your sanity has been restored, as you seemed to be losing it at the time. Welcome back.
  3. Pedants Corner: We couldn't meet Rochdale until the final and thats played on a Sunday.
  4. Alexander Armstrong has been good.
  5. I was unable to respond to this last night, as I was doing my bit for the Dutch Economy and got plastered on Heineken. You would think the selectors had beaten me to it! The 2nd stage isnt seeded. Its Group A & C winners and Group B & D runners up in one and Group B & D winners and Group A & C runners up in the other. The tickets were viurtually sold out in advance, so you just took a punt on who you are likely to see. As it is if we win tomorrow (fantasy) the group could end in a 3 way tie and net run-rate would decide it. Me? I'm off on our annual bike ride pub crawl to forget it all. Please be careful if you are driving in the Eling/Marchwood/Hythe area later and come across a very ****ed peleton, looking for a pub with setanta sports.
  6. That assumes we cant beat Pakistan on sunday and they have looked pants in their warm-up games. We win the group and the 2nd group looks a lot healthier.
  7. Lumb's innings was absolutely amazing. It wasn't slogging, he just hit every bowler all round the park. At his best against Kaneira, who is a top leggie. When you take Lumb's recent form into account, you have to ask what Luke Wright is doing in the England team, when he could have been at Hove mending a fuse. Oh well he will just have to play for us instead. :smt041. Such a shame Sky wern't there to cover it, but presumably Ian Ward had to go and visit his dear old mum.
  8. Better version by Colourbox made in 1985 before they went on to become MAARS.
  9. [quote=saintbletch;319295 Personally, right now I can't reconcile that the mouth-piece of the new owner is a property consultant. Yeah, I'd much rather he owned retirement homes.
  10. Just remembered they were at Uxbridge tonight v Middlesex and caught the last few overs on Solent. Hants 181-6 Carberry 56 Ervine 53 (26 balls) Pothas 26 n.o Middlesex 125 all out 19 overs Ervine 4-16 Dawson 3-25. Shouldn't tax the mind of the MOM judge. Nice to see an away win after the 2 firk-ups last week. Bring on Essex Thursday @ Rose Bowl.
  11. Pedants Corner; If you had a furlong to go, there wouldn't be any fences left. The run in is about 500 yards. Sorry, but it was bugging me all afternoon. :supz:
  12. Not prolific in their early years? Really, Nick. I think the events of the past week have had an adverse effect on your grey-matter. and that you would be well advised to take a complete break from this board. Go on holiday without your laptop and steer well clear of internet cafes. Before you make such ridiculous and exaggerated claims about a very ordinary player (IMHO of course) do yourself a favour and check out Messers Greaves and Lineker on wikipedia. Especially Greaves!
  13. 4. Make it safe for Rich to be able to walk the streets.
  14. Sorry> I was too busy reading the Echo and the numerous ITK on here that we were being saved by the Irish. Oh and Pinacle were still in with a shout. How the hell are we "mere mortals " supposed to know something was wrong? Like most on here I follow SSN and I've even started listening to Solent and Radio Hampshire news bulletins on the hour and guess what? Nothing. Nada. Diddlysquat. So until something DEFINITE comes along, please allow me and the others, some small irreverant fun.
  15. 48 hours? Has to include a Friday.
  16. Via Devon. Hope it dosen't rain.
  17. That's how you usually spell Fred.
  18. Mick Earls. So Irish he punched Jim Steele during the West Ham game 1974.
  19. "Sanity clause? Everyone knows there's no such thing as sanity clause."
  20. How do you know its "the only realistic hope". Please dont fall for the bullshirt that the echo spins. I wouldnt trust them to sit the right way on a bog seat.
  21. Not the best. Probably around 2000. Put it down to the ridiculous schedule. It wasn't till wednesday evening that we knew we even had a home draw. Imagine a lot of people had already committed themselves to other activities. A pity really, cos this is looking the best team we've had since the early nineties with Maco and Judge. Only really missing a strike bowler. Sicknote Tremlett perchance? **** poor draw though. Old Trafford on a Sunday.
  22. If you are basing your inane witterings on a man's tache then maybe it would be better if you didn't. What next? Hair colour? Shoe size?
  23. Just as well you didn't have an opinion. He was here about 4 months before the slimy parasite rocked up to watch his "1st ever football match." Alain Perrin - Arrival: No real facts known. But dont let the truth get in the way. Departure: Soon? Please?
  24. Personally I think you are well named. Hopefully the Blue Few sign them all and plummet to their inevitable doom.
