  1. Of course I agree with you that getting the club for the least amount of money was the best for ML and MC but the best for the supporters would have been when we were in the Championship. However as you maybe suggesting it was never really likely that anybody was going to put any money into buying SLH when Lowe Wilde Crouch were involved as the cost was too high but once in administration it was a bargain a club with large and committed fanbase and good facilities
  2. [quote name= But i think people have to be realistic. We will not be getting relegated. We will finish comfortabally away from the danger zone. I think only a few people truely expected to get promoted this year.[/quote] That is what I think to but with only one league win in ten or so games it is difficult to believe sometimes. I wonder what fans of other clubs we have played think
  3. Because apparently they should not have been appointed in the first place:confused:
  4. Although I think you post is excellent I doubt if ML and NC are doing it out of the goodness of their hearts but are expecting a return on their investment. It was a shame they did not buy the club when Wilde and Crouch were looking for investment but once in administration the club was so much cheaper. I glad we have the new owners but like many others hoped for better results which probably will soon happen.
  5. I agree with you about Pardew but before I elabrate I would suggest that it would have been a good idea for some one from the club to have said at the beginning of the season it is unlikely that we will be promoted this season because of the points deduction and having to be rebuild ready for next season I felt the expectations of many on here were way too high an although there is a plan to get to the Premiership in five years there have been no milestones published to guage whether the plan is working. With regard to Pardew you are right no one knows whether he will succeed but in the short term as long as we beat the teams like Wycombe Leyton Orient etc there is no reason to change managers as it will take time for his team to gel. However if we are struggling to beat better teams by the end of March that is a different situation. If we are in a reasonable position then and playing well we should then be with the acquisition of a few quality Championship calibre players be ready to mount a promotion bid next season.
  6. I must admit I dont think there are that many good managers Of course there are some but they are managers sometimes good sometimes bad . I am not sure about Brown I dont expect many Hull supporters thought they would still be in the Premiership this season. But yes somebody will it helped Nottm Forest last season when Davies came in
  7. Yes he is the sort of player we need not some youngster who cannot get into a Premiership Team
  8. Sometimes it is right to sack managers Gray Wigley JP Sometimes it is not only time will tell I wont be surprised if we win on Saturday You are right It's not rocket science
  9. I think success at clubs like the ones you have suggested is slightly different as the rewards for top players who are in winning teams is so great. In League 1 it is slightly different although I agree that our players should have a will to succeed
  10. Sorry I am only being pedantic nothing better to do but you could be right Faith is in general the persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true. It is the belief and the assent of the mind to the truth of what is declared by another, based on his or her authority and truthfulness
  11. How about Hoggard instead we do need an experienced seamer apart from Cork
  12. So do Christians but they maybe wrong. I have hope which is a little different that we will one day be back in the Premiership
  13. I dont think he is confusing bullying with exasperation the poster in question can of course have his views but like most zealots does not accept others in a reasonable manner.
  14. Most teams play well for some periods of each game good teams play well for most of the game that is what Pardew needs to address I would have thought. Then most of us will be happy
  15. Very true I dont dispute that at all but saying we plan to get there in five years is a bit cheesy. To actually plan for it is virtually impossible as there are so many factors completely outside of the conrol of the SFC board like injuries suspensions freak goals missed penalties bad decisions etc. However with good management and investment Cortese can build an environment where eventually the team will be able to move back to the Premiership sometime in the years ahead I would have thought
  16. Yes that is how I see it that way too as I dont see us failing to be in League 1 next season however I still not happy that we have had only one league win this season. So I am not in a position at the moment to praise Mr Pardew for his current efforts based on results .
  17. Possibly but how would he know him?
  18. Although I agree with your sentiments the only way we can progress to the Premiership is if we win games regularly. At the moment we are not until that happens the thought of getting to the Premiership is not realistic and that is what is concerning some fans. Although confidence is a good thing it should be tinged with realism as well
  19. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2009/09/back_from_the_brink_southampto.html#146591 Well Well Well an interesting read Cortese's plan is for the club to win promotion from League One in two seasons and reach the Premier League in five years. He does not expect Liebherr to enjoy a return on his investment until the club returns to the top flight but reckons Saints can break even in the Championship. In the meantime, there are funds available for Pardew to mould his squad.
  20. It will eventually work out but it may not involve Pardew and I think it will take longer than five
  21. I doubt that you have any idea New managers usually bring in new staff when they are appointed
  22. Well I think you could be wrong In lots of cases sacking the manager improves the situation but of course not always . If it was such a bad idea Chairman would not do it that often. Norwich seem to be doing OK at the moment as do Colchester and Charlton after sacking Pardew Dont know any other new managers in League 1 Harry is not doing too bad at Spurs either after they sacked Ramos The only place it does not seem to work is at St Mary's so perhaps we should have kept Wotte or even JP
  23. Plan for life in League 2 I would have thought and recruit Sol because he will like our training facilities
  24. Well you learn something new each day;)
  25. Steve Coppell probably the first choice anyway
