They were excellent against City at the weekend especially Harry Kane
-
Burnley have a good defence letting in only 29 goals so far this season
-
Surprise it was not the last as it was possibly the worst of all the games at Everton were easily the worst of all the teams involved
-
As I am an old Git 3 April 1963 QF FA Cup when we won 5 0 and the whole stadium was singing it as it seemed most of Southampton were at White Hart Lane and 1 May 1976 at Wembley Stadium as we won the FA Cup are my best memories of OWTS But I do remember watching Spurs in Europe in the early 1960s on TV in mid week with their fans belting it out in those early of European football I am sure most of the country was behind Man U Liverpool and Spurs when they played in the European Cup
-
I agree I dont think 25 /1 is a good bet as they need to beat West Ham and in theory may well have to beat Man City Chelsea and Liverpool as well

Although Saints played well not one Saints player in Garth Crooks' Team of the Week which shows how strong the PL really is I only watch MOTD when Saints do well and saw yesterday the quality of other teams and their outstanding players. We are playing really well at the moment but so are other teams but I cannot see us pushing for Europe without getting in some better attacking players.
-
Yes they spend £90m and do not utilise him seems very strange as discussed by MOTD
-
He shit because he hardly gets the ball 7 or 8 touches yesterday
-
So does Lawro and usually he is wrong about us
-
I think he does not think it a good idea at the moment
-
The point I was trying to make was that it is unlikely new supporters would travel to St Mary's to justify a 40000 stadium Like you I used to travel from the top of the M3 to watch the Saints when I was younger even had a season ticket and watched the Rugby around the Richmond area in the 1970s and 8os because I was a Saint I am a still a Saint following every game on the Internet it is not easy to give up after 60 years. Unfortunately my brother died earlier in the month we first went to the Dell August 1962 when we both returned to Southampton he had a ticket for the Swansea game which his widow used instead and since his death we have not lost so I am pretty confident that a run will continue tomorrow
-
I think lots of fans are fed up with the PL and like supporting local teams the Village I live in in Berkshire Binfield got to Wembley last year in the Vase is well and lots go and watch a couple of games a season at Reading in fact I am going to watch a game next month with my son in law Why go down to St Mary's for an expensive day out

They sold Tammy to Roma for £35m Whether Broja is better I do not know but I agree I do not think Chelsea will sell him they may loan to another club to gain experience with other players and systems or perhaps play him themselves I would be surprised if he came back here. Which leaves us with a lack of a reliable consistent striker
-
I was wondering why you think that Hopefully he will score about 10 PL goals for us this season so there is the likelihood if he played for Chelsea with better players creating more chances and having more experience and of course playing against us twice he could score perhaps 15 PL goals which would be pretty good
-
Is it no obivious to you that we do not attract top class players to SFC we sometimes manage to attract young players who become top class players but it is rather hit and miss and takes time for them to develop Without a huge amount of investment that is going to continue but that is OK with me
-
I would love him to stay here but for him to develop further I think he nedds to go to a bigger with better players and better coaching unfortunately. I would really be interested in what the club are planning in the next window as it is imperative that we have a top class striker available if Broja is not here as one of the reasons we are playing better as a team is because of the automatic selection of him at the moment like we were when Ings was scoring goals sometime ago
-
So what would you have said if he had scored So what would you have said if he passed and the goal was missed Bye the way I think most players would have shot if they thought they could score especially one that had scored a screamer the week before and was high in confidence Thats just football
-
Perhaps he thought he would score most players do when they shoot at goal
-
it is not about liking it is about reality Redmond is just one of our better players this season and because of this we are doing better as a team
-
I agree I think we have played pretty well all season but individual errors and A Armstrongs lack of goals has held us back
-
I agree I think we should always prioritise Cup games I have been watching Saints since 1962 and apart from the Promotion years of 1966 1978 2009 2010 my best memories are from our successes in Cup games starting in 1963 through the Paints Trophy and the unlucky League Cup Final with Puel as manager where most other football supporters including MAN U ones thought we were robbed

Originally I thought the starting XI was pants However on reflection I think Ralph's plan worked reasonably well although playing extra time was not ideal He wanted a second strength team to win the game giving fringe players a run out in order to save the experience players for Wednesday If things went wrong which they did he could bring on 5 subs in order to win the game which he did Romeu Salisu Bednerak Perraud Elyounoussi Adams played 3 minutes in total S Armstong KWP played 75 mins Broja 56 mins Redmond 86 mins JWP 120 mins So the team that plays on Wednesday is relatively fresh
-
We were only playing against Coventry not a PL team when your comment may be more relevant
-
I agree but has not played many top games if Wiki is to be believed

Chelsea's model seems to be working well much better than ours they are currently European Champions seem to end up in the top 4 every year. They seem to sell their surplus young players regularly to top teams getting in decent transfer fees whilst we mostly give our surplus players away for nothing If I was Broja at 20 years of age with a five year contract at Chelsea where a few of their fans I have talked to think he is an outstanding talent I would not want to move to southampton
