I do not know how long you have been following Saints Lighthouse but in the last sixty years in the top division we have the worst strikers and creative players I have seen I give you a dozen players over those 60 years who would put the present ones to shame and no doubt you could too Chivers Keegan Worthington Danny Wallace Pahars Boyer Macdougal Williams Holmes Ball Osgood Paine
-
I think he has done quite well to keep us up with the worst bunch of strikers I have ever seen play for Saints in the PL Without decent players we will never prosper unfortunately Let see what happens next season but I am not hopeful
-
Sorry to say that you are wrong we have been making up the numbers since 1966 but have been in the top flight for most of that time. If think it is very unlikely that the strategy of the club is going to change and instead of whingeing support the club in its quest to stay in the PL
-
Southampton will not listen to offers for 27-year-old England midfielder James Ward-Prowse, who is believed to be of interest to Newcastle United and Tottenham. (Mail) I wonder how this turns out
-
I thought the same but 246 was a decent recovery But I would like to continue with Mason Crane who has gone to Sussex on loan I am continually disappointed with him and his early promise has disappeared but feel the club's spin future could lie with Organ who can bat a bit It is all very sad really I thought Mason would develop into a top class bowler but it never seems to happen.

Do you not think that the whole squad apart from JWP Forster and possibly KWP have faded in the last couple of months as well as the ones you mention
-
What about a loan Having 4 FBs is a luxury when we need to spend mega on some striker or another
-
SFC has been like this essentially since getting to Div 1 in 1966 a few seasons of relative success playing in Europe many seasons of just staying up and a couple of relegations It will probably continue in the same way for the immediate future but at least we are still in the PL unlike Portsmouth Derby Nottm Forest Ipswich Sunderland Coventry clubs to similar to us
-
Perhaps he has got the best out of Armstrong and his best is not very good
-
But he is pretty ineffective
-
I agree with you and I doubt anyone other than KWP apart from Forster would get into Koemann's side of a few years ago. We just have a pretty ordinary squad which is probably positioned in its expected position in the PL league 12 to 15 I would have thought
-
The trouble is I do not see us attracting any quality players without spending big and one season we will probably go down Ralph gets all the blame but we do not have any players of the calibre of Mane Tadic Lallana VVD Pelle Lambert etc
-
How long have you been following the Saints I have followed them since 1960 and in that time I have seen them with little investment being in the top Division for nearly forty five years ago with the squad we have now we are lower PL team that is how it is and that is probably how it is going to be until one day we get relegated again. We have in my opinion the worst set of strikers I have seen us play with since we have been in the top flight and it is this lack of goals which is our current problem
-
Why not give some respect to Burnley they deserved to win
-
Of course we do not know what the budget is but most on here have been following SFC for sometime and have knowledge of past signings so have an informed idea of what the club are likely to pay for a GK. But of course your point of us not knowing what the overall budget for transfers and wages is a significant point which is under estimated on here together with the plans for the current players. We do not know what if they are expecting Salisu to stay whether JWP will be moving whether Bednerack Redmond Djneppo want to leave When is Romeau is going to be replaced is Tella going out on loan There are so mny questions with no real answers so we suggest informed guesses which I think is good and makes us think and come up with ideas which is what Turkish was doing and I do not really understand what the point of your post was as it was not particularly constructive in the debate on whether Fraser should stay So what is your view I think he should stay because the club would not have to pay out a transfer fee and I think he is currently playing pretty well But I do not know who the likely replacement is how much he would cost or wheter Fraser wants to stay I also think our top priority is as every year getting in a decent striker which I realise is pretty difficult
-
I agree with you but if we kept Forster surely it would be cheaper as we would not have to pay a transfer fee The money saved could be spent on a decent striker but getting one into SFC is not going to be easy as Ings has been our only decent one we have signed in recent years which is a similar situation in other clubs of our size in the PL Getting in another GK is again not going to be easy either if the saga at Wembley on Suturday is anything to go by where the USA number 1 goalie had a nightmare and gifted Liverpool the game as we need an experienced one who is tried and tested so I would stick with Fraser
-
Yes you are right but I think the teams we have lost to recently have played better than the ones we played earlier in the year and lets face it our players are in general average at the best and next season could be dreadful without a regular goal scorer We do not have any really standout player who perform consistently well and would be in the team of players who have played in the PL in the last ten years
-
Sell JWP Redmond and Tino
-
I agree with what you are saying but a strike force of Adams and Armstrong hardly fills the rest of the team with much confidence I would have thought. We are certainly going to struggle next season unless we get in a decent striker and who would want to come to St Mary's
-
I agree that a lot of the right wing press are manipulative and loads of peple are gullible and believe things which are completely untrue but surely it is obvious that Russia invaded Ukraine
-
Strange I thought he was lightweigt a lot of speed and energy but did nothing significant in the Penalty area unlike Broja
-
I doubt it West Ham are not going to bust a gut to score that many Goal Difference is not involved and I think they play Liverpool next week
-
Well I will not be watching the match on TV now what a joke and if we lose tonight and also against Villa I will be truly pissed off Anybody think will tonight
-
Yes I think you are correct I am fairly confident we can win as WH will be trying to get as high as possible in the PL as their chances of winning the cup like ours are small with the team still likely to be in the QF Of course our position in the PL is important but arguably not as important as West Ham's
-
I was a bit sceptical when I first heard he was coming to SFC but when I was him playing in his early days I realised he was the real deal nd he had so much energy
