Presumably no away fans will be allowed, at least from the start on 12th September?

I was at a dinner once and sat near to Jim Steele who made quite derogatory comments about his ex wife who I knew to be a nice woman.

Anyone got any idea what Hojbjerg is paid? I would assume his new employers would have to better it and offer up a 3 -4 year deal
-
I think we should all sign up to QAnon or David Icke to really find what's happening in this Flat World of ours which is ruled by Lizards or a Group of well organised Pedo's that only Donald trump can save us from!!

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are now in the driving seat for Hojbjerg. I guess Hoj will probably be disappointed with this unless his pay package is better than at SMS. Everton are unlikely to challenge for top honours unless their owners have deep enough pockets to shell out a lot of cash on players as well as financing their proposed new stadium.

Steve, I cant disagree with your comment. However I would argue that any Manager worth their salt would look at worst case scenarios (and I am sure Ralph and his team do) and would be concerned about goalscoring options if Danny Ings was injured. Personally I would like to replace Adams and Long if we had the cash with a quick mobile forward (possibly left footed) and a Pelle type who would provide more options in the air. However Long has been given an extended contract and I doubt we have the cash to splash out on additional forwards unless Che Adams is transferred. Of course all this changes if one of the top clubs comes in with a top dollar offer which suits the club and Danny Ings,

Spot in comment. Without Ings firing on all cylinders we would be relegated this season. Unfortunately all three options ie Adams, Long and Obefami are bang on Championship standard.

My lad and I were very pleased at the result (ironically I was quite nervous through the game) but had to feel a tad sorry for Bournemouth being denied by VAR having suffered a number of injuries. We could imagine if that had happened to us. Meantime what a fantastic recovery from the Leicester game and the record beating away form especially from the 1st day Burnley debacle.

According to Liverpool Echo, Everton have started transfer talks with a fee of £18m mentioned but Saints seem keen to include a player(s) that Everton prepared to let go.

I think playing youngsters has merit against 'weaker' teams. Having said that presumably the players (and Manager?) get win bonuses and there is a million or so additional cash from a final league position so there are significant benefits from fielding your strongest side.

With the Covid situation unlikely to be sorted for some time and the concern of a second wave, it is difficult to second guess when the 2020/21 season will start and who, if any, will be allowed to attend games. As has been mentioned in previous posts, attendance could be limited to season ticket holders only, spatially distanced and with opposing fans either banned or with capacity reduced. As Covid is supposed to be spread bu coughs, sneezes, singing and load outbursts, games will be highly sanitised in every way.

We had a group of Travellers over our way last year All the vehicles had foreign plates. Cant remember whether they were French or German) Ok they parked illegally on public land but they left the land as they found it and there were no reports of unsocial behaviour. This was a relatively bright spot in a regular catalogue of disruptive behaviour by largely Irish Travellers in our area. I am from Irish stock so can't be accused of racial stereotyping.

The armpit emissions from John Westwood must have been overpowering!!

I guess plans for a new stadium will be put on ice for a few more months.

He's got Grandkids? What a great role model for them!!

Re Coutinho, I remember being at a pre season youth team game at Vospers (saw Luke Shaw play for the first time) and was able to overhear a conversation between a group of the Saints staff there which indicated the club had been let down on the Coutinho deal, so from this it would be appear we were definitely in for the player.

Any thoughts on what the current problems in Hong Kong will affect the relationship between China and the UK and the possible affect on Chinese (eg Gao) investment in this country. It seems there is already an issue with the Chinese owners of Wigan. -
If Hojbjerg is valued at £35m what would the price for JWP. I have not been his greatest fan but got to say he has been spot on recently and a proper club player.

Doubt we will get much from Man City (H) and Man Utd (A) but it would be good to see us get a result at our hoodoo ground (Goodison Park) Dont know what to think about Bournemouth away. Part of me wants to see them relegated so we are the only local team in the Prem. However a more major part has a soft spot for Bournemouth and would like to see West Ham relegated.
-
What about Clyne?
-
I think there will be a number of Prem clubs in financial difficulties (us included?) if the money from outstanding TV games doesnt arrive.

One thing I remember was, as a 15 year old, playing cricket against St Marys and having to shout 'Howzat' Brother when appealing for a dismissal. Actually scored 22 off one over (short boundaries!!) and then being cleaned bowled the next over. Also ripped a brand new pair of trousers trying to jump over a fence after the game. My Mum wasnt too happy!!

I was on a ski ing holiday at the time and used to drink in the hotel bar with a group of Watford fans. One of them told me about the Keegan story just as he was leaving for home. In those days we didnt have mobile phones and I thought it was a wind up until I bought a Daily Mail the following day when he was headline news in the sports section. Remember going to the Guildhall where the club had organised a public announcement of the Keegan story with the promise og more big signings to come. They were indeed heady days!!
