Spot on. It takes time to re-build completely. Charlton didn't even have the same level of difficulty as us (e.g. it is the same boardroom), and they started preparing for this season pretty much from last Christmas. You could see that by April last year they were a better side, and with a full pre-season they are now making progress. We, on the other hand, hit rock bottom with administration, wasted all summer faffing around, got a new manager in 3 weeks before the season and clearly are going to be some way behind where we need to be. I am more than happy with the job Pardew is doing at the moment, and expect us to improve over the season, finishing strongly.

I am amused at the assertion we went 3-5-2. Thomas moved to centre-half, Lloyd James went to right back, Schneiderlin went into centre mid and we continued playing 4-4-2.

We'll be fine. We've only had a new manager for three weeks of pre-season, so we are well behind in timescales where we need to be. Plus there was other internal upheavel. I have been very impressed with Pardew who has quickly recognised the weaknesses the team has and has worked to address them. The "final two pieces of the puzzle" are yet to play, but we have another solid centre half and hopefully a pacy striker. All I wanted this season was for us to improve steadily, and to end the season on form. If that meant a chance of sneaking into 6th then great, if not I wasn't too bothered. Although obviously it would be great to have a win or two, I am not worried as things stand and am feeling pretty positive that my expectations will be met. Certainly nothing has altered them.

How many games had you seen Ricky Lambert play in before he moved to Saints. I am going to guess at 0.

Rubbish racing today. Nothing takes my fancy.

You don't have a clue what you are on about.

Pathetic and totally inaccurate comments.

Swindon away would be good as only 25 mins on the train for me. Don't want Northampton or Torquay away.

I shall be watching with some beers when I get home.

It started the day at 50/1 on Scotbet, now down at 25/1. Still, I have seen odds tumble like that before, only for the horse to come last!

O, B******* - this means we are getting the sh1tty terrace behind the goal.

You should have read page 1 of this thread.

Don't mention Tiger........

Senegal have already been knocked out of African qualifying for World Cup and Cup of Nations. Tunisia are away at Nigeria on Sunday, and then home to Kenya on Thursday. No idea, however, if Jaidi is in their squad.
-
Can I be the first to point out that Senegal haven't qualified for Angola 2010, so there is no risk of losing him for all of January.

List the players still at SFC with suspect temperament/commitment

Ooooooooooooooooooo Rahdi Jaidi, he used to be a skate but he's alright now. There's only one Rahdi Jaidi. Der der der-der Rah-di Jai-idi. Only 3 songs our fans ever sing, so it will be one of them.

Not much I like today, but my tip is: 4.00 Brighton Arcola

Why the hell would the club give away potentially delicate transfer information? No news, no story. The OS is there for official news, not spurious rumour.

PMSL. We signed the joint-highest goalscorer in the league last season for over £1million. We have signed the captain of a club near the top of our league. PMSL@ALPINE.
-
I see we've reached the decivise day of the season today. Southampton throwing it all away. LOL@ALPINE.

*cough* winner *cough*

Ricky Lambert, the joint highest goalscorer in the league last season, signed for us for just over £1million (all told), and according to Bristol Rovers we "more than doubled his wages". We clearly made an attractive offer to the captain of Colchester Utd, a team near the top of the league. It just goes to show we are spending more money than most of the division, and you simply don't have a clue.

He's making things up.
