Should have details of ale pubs later on today. I know that pub #1 doesn't open until 12, so will have to do some research on ale pubs open from 11am! As for £11 fare. Advanced fares children, advanced fares.

Exactly right. The FA have nothing to do with this.

I don't think I would appreciate that style of cheese. However, in general I am a big fan of cheese. Especially blue cheese.

They don't get to play though, do they. They get to sit on the bench because we have to name 7 subs. It impacts a lot more at clubs without big first team squads, where young players are now suffering because they have to fill numbers on the first team bench. It is total idiocy.

What did it do to you this time?

I have come to the conclusion that Mark Cavendish is the only person who deserves to win, even if Button wins the F1. Will have to start some kind of campaign!
-
One of the worst things about having 7 subs is you have to find youth players to fill the gaps when they should be getting experience playing academy football.

It wasn't as good as I'd hoped, but there were some decent moments. Certainly better than Murray v Thaxton on Saturday night. That fight was stopped too early, I think the ref could have let Thaxton get to the end of round 4.

Sadly scotbet only had it at 16/1. Still, got a bit of money back - should fund some bets for the week ahead!

Got my tickets! Looking forward to it as not been before. Got an £11 return on the train as well, bargain! We have found a real ale pub crawl to do in London before the game. More details to follow!

Right, been meaning to do this thread for ages! As someone pointed out on another thread, on the afternoon of the Hartlepool away game (Tues 24th) Sedgefield races are on (1st race 12.50pm). Doesn't seem that easy to get to the course, the nearest train stations are Darlington and Durham, however I'm sure if a few people wanted to attend then a taxi from one of these stations to the racing wouldn't cost much at all. So, am throwing it out there to see who is planning to be up there for the whole day, and might be interested in going racing. Also, got to figure out how to get back to Newcastle after the match, as no trains!

I am backing Channon's Youmzain in the Arc D'Triomphe.

You are a racist. End of.

Well, I was wrong, and Audley looked good, to be fair.

Thing is though, he clearly does have some talent, somewhere. And he has knocked out Williams before. I can't see much from the other 6, though. Gammer was absolutely destroyed by Danny Williams, and Scott Belshaw was knocked out in two rounds by Tyson Fury.
-
I see that Audley Harrison has been installed as the bookies favourite, but I think 13/8 on Danny Williams offers some fantastic value, I don't think he'll bottle this. However, not really watched prizefighter before, and I presume it disadvantages the more 'mature' boxer due to the short format? Any thoughts?

Does Coretese keep tabs of fans views via this forum?

Let's hope not. -
My tickets have arrived, hurrah. Can officially get excited about going again now. Although the way the Bucs are playing at the moment it looks like it might be an absolutely awful game! Got tailgate tickets as well. Apparently they are doubling the number of people selling beer there this year, which will be good.

I thought we put in more crosses, and dangerous ones, last night than we have in any game this season. Lloyd James in particular whipped some very dangerous balls in.
-
I was under the impression that you had to use the same size pitch all season, but I could be wrong?

Equally, seeing as one of the most common phrases associated with the Lib Dems is "I'd vote for them, but I don't think they'll win", in a proportional system that element would be taken away, and so more people would vote Lib Dem.
-
What, however, it does show is that Cameron wants to defend the status quo. He likes an unfair system that guarantees his party a certain number of 'safe seats'. Opposing electoral reform, as he has done, shows his true colours. Edit: I have just read that Brown is proposing the Alternative Vote system. Clearly this system is rubbish, not truly proportional and, if given a chance, I would vote against using it.
-
That's one system of PR, but seeing as you are so hopelessly angry about everything, you probably don't realise that there are other methods. p.s. We do need voting reform. At the last general election the Lib Dems got 1 in 4 votes, but merely 1 in 10 seats. How does our government actually reflect the views of the country?
