Bof, all's fair in love, war and football transfers...
-
Not so sure, think that they'll baulk at the asking price and get someone else in. I will be staggered if they really give us anything north of 50 million.
-
Indeed, we paid 12 million for what turned out to be bit part players last summer. In today's player market 12 million doesn't get you much.
-
Well without having studied the article in any great way I can't say I'm surprised. There is just so much junk available for the young to spend their hard-earned on now. I didn't need a £1000 computer or a 500£ telephone, I had an old banger that I got for not much and not a balls out BMW at about 50000£. We were content with much less I think.
-
Not a bad day all in all after a bit of a sticky start. 351/8 at Stumps, that's our first 4 batting points of the season is it not ? Good knock from Bailey, solid support from others and a bit of an Abbott blast to wake up the crowd towards the end. Could make 400 if Abbott hangs around for say 15 overs tomorrow.
-
Why would he go to Palace, they're no better than Burnley.
-
Better calibre players ? You mean ones we probably couldn't afford I expect. We could get better class players but we'd have to pay them what they want and I'm not sure that we do that.
-
Allo Mauricio, Mauricio here, what's the score with Southampton then? Well my lad, don't ever play your second team in the cup, the fans all want to get to the Cup Final, highlight of their season, and when they do they'll turn on you for not scoring enough home goals in the league, tell you what, best give it a miss. Get a London job then you and the wife can come round for drinks.
-
Tough going today seemingly.
-
Isn't he good on fantasy football then ?
-
I expect he just decided that the 19th June is far too early to start pre-season training in any serious manner and that it's too hot anyway. The basic training staff can handle the hour or so's efforts for this morning anyway. Plus his Mum died last week I think.
-
LvG ? Get out of here, he's a non-starter for sure. Far too many rumours, if I tell you that Bielsa failed to turn up to start work at Lille this morning, does that make him a candidate for the Saints job? Of course it doesn't.

Saints Transfers Thread - Deadline Day
Window Cleaner replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
Well then it would become a no contest wouldn't it. In the CL, living in a principality where there is virtually no tax and playing with a fellow countryman against playing in the PL with a mid table side, probably not even playing at all à la Gardos and paying shedloads of tax for the privilege. -
Who can say with JRod, he was on fire in the Pochettino system until he got injured. Did the system make more of him than he actually is? Did being surrounded by such brilliant players make him look better than he actually was.
-
Oh drat, 38/3 again.
-
Vieira only yesterday: "I think to have my name linked with Saint-Etienne or any other team is always flattering, I think it's always good," Vieira said. "But it stops there. It's not going any further than that -- I am really happy here, I am really into the project because it is really exciting what we're trying to build at this football club and I want to be part of it." So signing with us by the end of the week it is then.
-
No No, he definitely turned them down...twice.
-
Won toss, going to bat. Hopefully get a solid start from Carberry and Adams.
-
Does constructive betting exist? Like you know putting a hundred on a complete outsider to push your real bet out to better odds. I see that De Boer has drifted to 6/1 ish with Sky. Ah right I see now that De Boer is 1/2 or the job at Palace, probably explains why he's 6/1 for Saints.
-
Vieira would be interesting, can't really see it happening though.

Although it was only a matter of time really. -
Well he wasn't exactly a shrinking violet who'd only played for Bishop's Stortford was he. Major, major, international player.
-
In fact I did, I felt that it was a step forward.

But why would he quit the Belgium job now with just a year before the final stages when his side are as good as qualified already (might even be, haven't checked). The time to give up that job for another league job is next summer, not now. He failed in his last year at Everton really so won't have much choice now, next year if Belgium should do well in Russia he'll be on the up and up.
