  1. But it has never been formally established the Markus Liebherr had 3 million anythings (well probably Nigerian Nagwes or siimilar) It is a figure bandied about in the void, it doesn't appear in Forbes or any other major "rich list". The what I call main Liebherr family possesses about 3 billion dollars according to Forbes but the late Markus is just an unknown. All I know it that his little enterprises have all been wound up and Mail International Holdings AG is now run by an Austrian and another Swiss. However if you want to actually share a link to the "financial data" with me and not just a baseless fag packet calculation of how much he would have had if he hadn't given his shares back to the others of the family then I might be reconciled to the populist figures bandied about.
  2. They have a clue or haven't a clue, makes all the difference really.
  3. Could be but Tottenham really need a proven entity for their next PL campaign and not a manager with L plates. FdB's problem is that he's never managed outside Holland with their rough and tumble football and a 2 horse league. Levy just cannot afford another failure. That's probably why Mauricio is now odds on with some bookies whereas FdB was in that position only 2 or 3 days back. Tottenham need a major rebuild, preferably with a few of the players they already have and MP must be favourite tro do that over the relatively insular De Boer.
  4. In fact it will be a massive job, all the pressure will be on them not to have a disastrous season like this one again. I don't know enough about Van Gaal to make any sort of judgement on him but EPL football is so different to all others that it's an art form for managers. So many "big names" have failed in the PL, some several times.
  5. I worked out the annual interest on 3 billion sterling the other day, even on 10 year gilts or similar it exceeds 80 million £/annum. I am pretty certain that our owner has nowhere near the funds popularly attributed to her.
  6. Anyway 14/1 was the figure yesterday, I compared it to the odds of 400/1 of winning the PL in another thread. We're 8th favourites to win the title and 8th favourites not to go down.
  7. The family loan exceeds by far 30 million and it is mainly converted into equity. The problem is the major overun on the training ground. Wasn't it 30 million instead of 15 million, that's a major liability because it's not really an asset. Not much call for second hand training ground complexes in Marchwood...one careful owner.
  8. It is absolutely impossible that the owner had no knowledge of the companies finances unless she was in some way excluded from the fiscal circuit for a while. They were converting owners loans into equity, providing finance on a constant basis as well. Then there was NC threatening to wander off last summer over "backing". Must have given some sort of figures to his claims surely. It is all so opaque and murky that one really doesn't know about the owner (or owners) at all. I just suspect that the owner is getting generally worried about the level of liabilty and future investment required exceeeding her means.
  9. That will be a real surprise, I'm not even sure that he'll make the 30. DD is such a complex entity. I have no idea whether we're going 23+7 or 30 to start with though
  10. What star players have Everton sold then? Rodwell and Fellaini.....daylight robbery, whoever flogged them should be given the freedom of Sefton Park or whatever. Real Madrid is a magnet for top players, the nec plus ultra of football clubs.
  11. most of them are never quoted at all, it's just round numbers bandied about by fans and journalists. But VAT is definitely payable on transfers of footballers.
  12. I can only refer you to some of Ranieri's interviews in French for Monaco, they were excruciatingly bad and in the end journalists got the better of him. There's nothing more savage than a journalist twisting an error of phrase or grammar into what he thinks (or wants) to be true.
  13. Perhaps because they don't really know what they're doing football wise. We have a gabber, an heiress (of incertain fortune) a Swiss (or German) lawyer, a bean counter and an old school football man. We should have appointed a real CEO with football experience when we were supposed to be looking for one.
  14. 2 players for 50 million plus Osvaldo and perhaps Gaston. That would give us pushing nigh on 65 million in transfer fees received (i've taken off Bompey's cut) plus 82 million PL revenues plus 20 odd million ticket sales plus odds and ends from the commercial side. So all told 180 million or so in revenue one way or another, what do they intend to do with all of that if there's not much of an incoming transfer budget then?
  15. But he isn't.
  16. Job creation scheme in the provinces.
  17. Not without real money spent on a striker and another CB it won't.
  18. Won't happen though, they had their chance last summer and cocked it up, now they're stuck with whoever they can get.
  19. Liverpool Echo says they've only bid 20 million and that we want 25, that being 18.75 for us and 6.25 for Bournemouth then, urk the thought of giving them a hand-out like that just rankles, they'll only waste it . Perhaps we could try to fob them off with Sharp, Jos and Mayuka for about 25% of it.
  20. Pochettino must have some basic grasp of French, he did a few years at PSG and Bordeaux.
  21. QPR perhaps if they get promoted.
  22. The trouble with Lallana is the 25% we have to give to Bournemouth. Already you have to deduct VAT from whatever you get, so that knocks 30 million back to about 25, 6.25 million of that for Bournemouth then agents fees, player's cut and whatever we may owe Lallana in the way of loyalty bonuses and whatever have you and we'll be left with not so much to sign a replacement.
  23. Indeed, basically if Mauricio should go to Spurs (or anywhere else) it would be because the board have either sold players he really wants to keep or not been ambitious enough with new recruits. Benitez wouldn't stand for any of that either so there would be no point in trying to recruit him. If the board are decided to go with what we've got left after any outs and academy academy academy ad nauseum we won't get any really respectable manager.
  24. It would indeed but I really wouldn't count on it.
  25. Napoli were 2nd thus directly into the group stage of the CL. Mauricio is now favourite for the Spurs job again. Doesn't mean anything I supppose, especially if our board are prepared to match his ambition (and salary of course).
