Transfer window in the UK opens on the 9th June. Obviously players can move becaue there are no official games to be played by clubs but to be registered as a XXX player you have to wait for the 9th June.............. This is important in fact because of the FIFA handouts to players' clubs for WC presence. There's a pre-WC period which is counted as well so I really don't know how they'd handle a transfer on the eve of the WC. I expect you could look it up on the FIFA WC site though.

Maya, Gaston and Dejan are already called up, think that will be about it unless the rap that Cabaye got on his ankle on Saturday is worse than expected. Still 6 players, that will bring us a bit of a bonus, might even get something for AOC as well, can't remember how far back the formation bonuses go.

In fact if we're really going to sell we'd be as wise to do it before the WC on a cash only, no refunds basis. Anyway the commentators (Scots knobber, don't know who it was) said Adam tended to go missing in games, doesn't last 90 minutes and doesn't work back consistently, good when he does though. Got the impression that he thought him overated. Liverpool were considering Lovren last summer, they dillied and dallied and Lyon wanted to get their hands on the money (as per usual) and he agreed to sign for Saints. The fortune quoted for the late Markus is just a rough guess based on the entire family wealth. At the last Forbes count the total wealth of the Liebherr family had been reduced to about 3.0 billion dollars. No-one has ever produced any hard evidence to Markus's real wealth and really it doesn't matter too much but the fact that it's entirety could be managed by Cortese from his desk at SMS for nigh on 3 years indicates to me that the Billionaire status which has been attributed to him for these years is in fact a case of "send three and fourpence we're going to a dance". He had enough to treat us well, long may it continue but the fact that the current incumbent actually seems to be worried about money in some small way instils a sense of not being all that rich (400-500 million all told) to me.

Doncaster's season being finished it's perfectly normal that he's back with us and as the vacations don't start until nearly the end of May he has to turn up or not get paid I suppose..

According to the French Press (some of them even get the odd one spot on) Arsenal are looking to pay up to 20 million € so that's a bit over 16 million £. Apparently they're going to watch him again tomorrow and then bung the fax (or whatever it is nowadays) off to SFC. Unless of course he scores 15 OGs or something. The FFF are also likely to have representation at St Marys tomorrow.
