  1. Can't remember the last time we beat any of them actually, not these last 2 seasons anyway.
  2. Ah but did they dominate those games and just fail to score because of the paucity of their attacking players ? Could be.
  3. Caulker might improve our squad though. Probably just a bit better than Jos and with some decent coaching who knows.
  4. Home to Hull on Tuesday evening. Hope they win that, wouldn't like to think that we could have finished above them if it wasn't for that joke loss at home to Cardiff. Low point of the season for me that (well one of 3) just nothing at the sharp end, bit like yesterday really..
  5. Wanyama still worries me on occasions against good class players, nearly f*cked up again yesterday but was generally OK. Still rather have Morgan and Corky myself.
  6. A year or so ago I told you that Hooper was not of PL standard, thanks to him for proving me right. If we wanted to sign Hooper we might as well just keep Sharp (who is not of PL standard either) because he's still going to have a year left on his contract anyway. The front office have some major work to do to get shot of he, Osvaldo and Mayuka again.
  7. The press rumours only have any value if you take them seriously. As they're usually wrong it's best just to ignore them and wait to see what comes to pass.
  8. Can't see where he might be going myself, this can (or could) only be about "the project" and not another plum job waiting for him then.
  9. Is that not the young Targett ??
  10. Some people just always want to win, not an unuseful quality in a football manager really.
  11. Wickham did score a fair few goals for Sheffield as well this season, nothing for Leeds mind you. Perhaps he's just finally got his act together and is starting to confirm some of the potential he showed at Ipswich...from there to be the next Zlatan...well that's a big leap.
  12. Terry doesn't do England any more and Coleman is of course Irish. Cork won't go so you need 3 more players. Walker, Jones and no doubt the kid from Everton who was useless last week.
  13. Won't make a bit of difference to a pro-footballer.
  14. Nothing new, papers were running Liverpool target Lovren stories at least a month ago. Same old, same old just being rehashed and going round in circles. You can see why, Liverpool won't want to risk Touré ever again at CB, Sakho is handy but has off days and that just leaves Agger and Skrtel who are both being eyed up by Napoli and their ex manager Benitez.
  15. Hah, told you so....... Tin medal please.
  16. If Everton turn out with the same attitude against Citeh that they did against Saints you can start spending the money already. They have nothing to play for anyway .
  17. In fact Newcastle have taught us all a lesson this season, that being that you need to be careful who you sell because some players are very difficult to replace. In the 20 games in which Cabaye participated they obtained 34 points, in the other 16 so far just 12.
  18. In fact if you look at betting odds Liverpool have been favourites to sign Lallana for a fair while now, odds are pretty short as well. Why that is I couldn't say, they must have had some money dobbed on it but it's nothing new. They're CL bound and they're not that strong in his position.
  19. Honestly with the current ratio of TV Money to Gate Receipts a few more thousand on the gate wouldn't change all that much. The more people you have through the turnstiles the more staff you need to sell them tickats and police them. Until we start selling out every game Krueger is probably right. TV Money= 2 million +£ per game, that's 50000 people at 40£ a ticket I think, probably more when you count VAT..
  20. Spain,Germany,Portugal but nothing is ever worth having from Italy. Their football is more of a social event than anything else.
  21. Which is why one needs to stop thinking so insularly. The best bargains aren't to be had in the UK. No one else from Italy though thanks.
  22. Indeed, when you add on ticket sales for next season and commercial revenues (including a decent shirt sponsorship deal) it's hard to understand some of the piffle spouted by the board of late. We could in theory have reduced out player salary mass to about 50% of revenue.
  23. Did he actually turn up ? Thought it might have been a cardboard cut-out. Probably far more concerned about his WC with Belgium than whether Everton finish 4th or 5th. Too many late WC hope ending injuries have occured these last few weeks for it not to concern players . If he went down on Saturday and was out for any time that would leave Belgium without a real front man.
  24. I don't know exactly how accurate this is, gives us an idea of how much each place is worth though.
