"Must Do" Away Games 2013/2014. What ate yours?
Window Cleaner replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
Any that I can get to, have had a very poor season match wise this year, just 3 mainly because when I can go there are no tickets and when there are tickets I have professional committments, bit of a pain really, fortunately we're on TV or stream every week, seen every game but 1 this season. -
Pulis might even get the job at Wigan if he's interested in it, type of manager who'd get promotion by battering your average NPC team into submission, like West Ham and to some extent Reading.
-
because MP has his own men and needs no help in the motivational department. Also as he was a better defender than Pulis will ever coach he needs no instruction in that department, just players with enough ability to carry out his instructions correctly. As we have seen our players possessing a truely high level of technical ability and footballing nous have been those who have shown the most marked improvement under MP, Morgan,Davis,Cork,Shaw those with very little extra to find have been amongst the most mediocre, Lallana for example and of course Gaston remains the enigma he's always been since he's been with us but I think that's about fitness both physical and mental more than anything else. An English winter can be tough on an organism that isn't adapted to it.

Other way round at first probably,
-
No next question ?

Think De Ridder when you're talking about banging in goals in the Dutch league. It's probably sub Championship standard. Young players might be adaptable to a higher standard but your average dyed in the wool dutch goleador will just turn out to be another de ridder...ie useless.

Went along to Brest-Lorient in the Cup a while back when I was up that way, he certainly seemed to have got a bit of the old spark back again. Gorcuff has a knack of getting everything out of a player that's there to be had, same as Puel, one of them will probably step up to the national side when the idiot Deschamps gets the boot.

Here's a blast from the past for you. Jeremy Aliadière...you know the bloke who was going to be the next...and then was nothing at all. Well since Lorient took him in when no one else would and got him back on his feet he's turned up trumps for them, scored a good few goals, bags of assists and is said to be on the verge of the French national team again..Anyway he wants to move on, no doubt for some sort of realistic money, probably gets 5 small fishes a week at Lorient and he's much in demand apparently.
-
for 10 million £, don't think he's had much of a season at Barca and they need to make room for Neymar.
-
Grenier is no great shakes, good free kicks but we already have someone for that. He's certainly not worth 15 million euros. Gaston has far more potential if we can just use it correctly and that means no Lallana I'm afraid.

On the subject of Argentines there are 2 at Nice who are right handy, the central defender Civelli who's out of contract but seems to be heading for Italy and the striker Cvitanich. Trouble is Nice have qualified for the Europa League and the players might see that as incentive enough to stay there for one more season at least. Why no UK club has recruited Puel just astonishes me, a real magician, can turn sow's ears into silk purses...
-
good skills of course but utterly useless when you get barged off the ball by a feather duster and end up on your ass every 30 seconds.
-
new washer up in the canteen I expect.

And it's been very discreetly handled as well, now if he'd announced he wanted to sign for Everton immediately after they got relegated well it would be like hitting on a widow at a funeral wouldn't it. Always on the cards as soon as Benitez turned them down (which he no doubt did, not that it would have gone down with Everton fans anyway) but at least there was a visible "mourning period"..
-
what's with the mini French flag underneath the Grey Goose logo then ? Right got it, it's distilled in France. Still nice job advertising it all over this forum, take a pay rise and a bonus that man.
-
plus he's got the wrong Camden......Camden Town and not Camden County GA...where there is in fact a nuclear submarine base.
-
Red Bull just sponsor people in other sports though, there are Red Bull teams and teams sponsored by Red Bull. Like Citroen and Volkswagen in WRC if I recall correctly. Seem to remember a WRC Mini Cooper with dolly girls giving out Red Bull in Brest High St not long back.
-
And there would be a downside to it even if it t'were remotely possible. No free lunches at MUFC.
-
10 goals in 40(ish) Championship games would tend to suggest that you are wrong. Sharp is limit good enough for the Championship, it takes a different skill set to be a successful striker in the PL.
-
there will be many cases of delusion brought about by the absence of football, yes.
-
So then that logo would fit well onto an "Air Florida" type shirt. To your paintshops please gents.
-
Adrian Newey was at Southampton Uni I think, at the same time as my youngest brother.
-
potentially misleading

once again I think that many posters just do not realise just how good you have to be to play in the PL these days. Many PL players of 4 or 5 years back would struggle to get into the better championship sides in our day and age. Surman for instance, Wolves were in the PL when they signed him I think but he just didn't make the grade despite many opportunities at both Wolves and Norwich. Good player but just not up to the PL in 2012/13
