Ah but it's not just about having better scouts, it's also about having better knowledge of the top end market, how much players are on (ball park wise) who has a buy out clause, who's chairman might be open to offers and roughly how much. Great advantage of having a manager who's been there and done that. Last season we started with a handicap on that front and we had the ridiculous transfer committee because of it. Now we seem to have a management team with a bit of savvy beyond Wigan and S****horpe, blokes who've been involved in International football and the contacts that go with it..

probably, it's just about 3 years mid-table PL income. When you add on 3 years ticket sales you get somewhere over 300 million, not counting any commercial revenue.............If we can't make a buck or two on that sort of income we'll look right silly.

PL revenues would come to about that if we're mid-table but there maybe Stadium expansion in that figure.

I think there are going to be some seriously disappointed punters around here in 6 weeks or so's time...And then it will all kick off again...not enough signings blah blah blah. I doubt that there is any new found financial support, just whatever was planned in the first place and we probably get to invest all that we make from our next 2 or 3 PL seasons in the team and facilities......... The players we sign will probably be low cost (6/8 million) high rewards, players who are nearly out of contract or have fixed buy out clauses in their contracts who are keen to play for us and buy into the project accepting good reward for success achieved when it's actually achieved.

don't really think Wanyama is the type of player we'd pay serious money for, he seems to be indisciplined and erratic. had one good game against Barca but that's not a reason to pay 8 or so million for an unknown entity. Let Arsenal or Everton have him, their loss will probably be our gain when he passes straight to JRod 20 yards out..

I see that Dickson isn't playing for Bradford today, why is that, injury ? I know he's out of contract with us anyway but thought he'd be a regular at Bradford.

can't remember all that much about him but last time I saw Anderlecht (which wasn't all that long ago) I sort of remember him as being a bit of a wimp and there's one thing for sure wimps do not make it in the PL.

think Biglia has had and absolutely abject domestic season with Anderlecht, probably because he doesn't want to be there. Not many games, injuries, reports of mental illness (or something like that) stayed in Argentina when he should have been back in Brussels, no goals...as i say abject.

but no doubt they all want to play most of the time but I see the point on the Clyne/Shaw interchange from time to time....

If we're looking at players in Italy we could do worse than having a look at Jonathan Biabiany who's at Parma now (I think). Remember him in the kids leagues around Paris, went to Inter I think very young but I don't know why he's at Parma and not Inter now.... Sort of winger, advanced midfielder who might compete well in the PL

we alrready have 2 top CMs with Davis and JWP, a top CM in the making, in reserve. If there's one position I don't think we'll be reinforcing it's CM.... AM yes CM no.

I'd be more worried about Lallana and Gaston's total of just 8 than I would about a zero from a ball recoverer who's also had a turn at right back a couple of times.

a more modest 22 million £ for me. 8 for a striker/winger, 10 for a CB and 4 for a decent replacement LB, that's it. Mind you think we'll get a couple of frees in if there is any quality available for just signing on fee so could be even less.
