I have no idea really, not overkeen on Hughes..never was. But then as I won't be choosing the manager for next season I'd guess it is of little importance.

perhaps, just seems to be a high number of lbws in this game. 18 so far isn't it ? -

Sold to a Qatari Sheik who eventually didn't want to pay the bills any more. Loads of sanctions from UEFA because of debts so it's no great surprise that they've hit the buffers. -

Never understood the attraction of replica shirts, let alone ones with players' names on them. And there are so many different types in the average crowd, why yesterday I even saw shirts dating back to the 2008/9 relegation and administration season; You'd think "fans" would want to forget that wouldn't you. -

Maiden Hants ton for Northeast. Pity that our 3 other top flight batsmen all got out leg before to Virdi; We might even have got close to the astronomical target if one of them had been able to stick around. -
Looking at the squad we could be left with...

Hasn't made a single PL appearance this season from what I can see. There's probably a reason for that, other than him being an old, hoofing thug that is. I believe he had some sort of minor judicial issues a while back, perhaps they were less minor than apparent. -
A lot of football fans aren't even fans. They compare every performance to what they've seen of Citeh and Utd on match of the day.

Who knows, they are both the type of player who always has and probably always will lack consistency. They'd probably both be just fine as bit part replacements in Top 8 sides. I believe I said so at the time of transfer speculation about both of them. In the case of Lemina, Juventus don't sell players they want to keep unless the price is ridiculous. Saints need to learn from Lemina, Gabbidiani and Hoedt about "available" players from top Italian sides. -

Drat, drat, drat; Rossouw out leg before to the off spinner. That makes Vince, Amla and Rossouw all out in the same manner when looking set. Either the lad Virdi is pretty good or our batsmen have serious defaults against that type of bowling. -
I see him more at PSG but not as manager. Could return to Monaco I suppose. The France job would be a bit of a trap for any old manager. Deschamps has been remarkably successful in the main but the French want Zidane in the job really.

Probably does but it won't be with Southampton FC.

But as Bournemouth have no pressure upon them whatever Saints fans do won't make a jot of difference to them. They're professional footballers who've seen it all before, coming to the end of what has been for them, a successful season.

That's probably why there are no british refs at the World Cup this year. British refs have a tendance to interpret the rules after their fashion. They do not apply the rules as they stand in many instances. It keeps the game flowing on occasions but it's a constant source of controversy.

So, not in a great position. Any chance of a rained off day ? Seriously though, we really need to do something about these openers. It was already a priority last season and nothing seems to have been adressed. -

Was obviously over optimistic with 320-350, try 147. 6 Hants batsmen out leg before. Are balls keeping low or something ? -
Better than the club ? You're joking right. He's always like that, a half-arsed, part timer. Capable of some fantastic stuff followed by prolonged periods of direness. He was like that at Marseille, don't know about Juventus.

Turning into a right old train crash is our first innings. Now 79/6 with Vince, Northeast and Rossouw all gone pretty cheaply this morning. -

You know what I mean.... So anyway, would be nice to see some fine batting from our front row batsmen today, maybe make 320-350. Pity about the 2 openers yesterday, seemed to have given us a decent start and then both got out in quick succession. Still think we need better openers myself. -
Didn't some poster or other once get an infraction for "trampling upon the dreams of others" ?

I see that the Russians are now putting it about that they told the coalition where attacking wasn't an option. It also transpires that the French Cruise Missile Destroyers firing systems malfunctioned for 2 of the 3 and they only sent 3 missiles instead of the planned 8.

Looked like a bit of a slog for our bowlers in the afternoon though, then Surrey just sort of collapsed when Dawson got amongst them. Berg is on impending maternity absence I think they said on the radio. -
Indeed I saw nothing from last nights game that gave me much hope of winning against Everton or Swansea. Bournemouth might be dfferent. Must say that if Vardy was still as sharp as he used to be we'd have gotten tonked yesterday.

Surrey won the toss and chose to bat. Might be a hard day in the field for Hants then. Looks like no Berg, that's a blow.
