England did pretty well considering that Henderson was way off and Sterling is very wasteful. Pity we've no real alternative to Henderson available because he looks shot. With Lustig suspended for Sweden in the next game I might start Rashford.

Get the feeling that Howe would do him a world of good. Wasn't Surman in a bit of a decline when Bournemouth signed him? Still he's been at Liverpool for 4 seasons, don't know what his contract situation is though. Might even welcome a move.

Not so sure, over 30, bags of injuries...not someone you're going to splash huge amounts of cash on really. Loan move would be most likely if Liverpool really don't want to take the hit on the nose. Lallana needs to prove he can still play to some sort of useful extent..

Read up on him. He wasn't much appreciated at Nice and Viera didn't seem to want him. Played as a CB for Nice. Why anyone would think we'd get a work permit for him is anyone's guess really. Perhaps he has some other non-noted nationality in his baggage.

Academic argument. England's defence probably isn't good enough to beat anyone with a serious striker or two. Doesn't matter which side of the draw we may be on. See a Brazil-Argentina final myself. Group games mean nothing, seen so many good looking sides fall at the first real hurdle and so many shockers in group games progressively raise their level.

Strange games last evening. Spain even looked as if they were trying to avoid topping their group. Probably just an impression though and they were simply having an off day. Still, avoiding the host nation in the knockout stages could be considered wise.

Not a bad day yesterday, watched most of it. Vince out to a really good ball, Rossouw batted well enough. Pity Northeast and Alsop got bogged down by the accurate bowling and occasional movement though. Hants still have it all to do from 302/6 after 96. Might even limit them to 2 bowling points whilst getting 4 batting ourselves. Plus 2 might help in a tight finish to the season.
