If that's correct I do wonder why we're wasting a reported 25K a week on Lee then, not very Cortesian at all, bet he hates wasting money on lost causes. Cork was demoted in the numbering system this summer, that usually means in our case that you're not starter material. We should cut that out by the way, no other club does it, players take whatever number they're given in the majority of cases.

You know Adrian once upon a time there was the acronym EOE on every invoice and most other commercial documents. This should now be added to every tongue in cheek team suggestion, it means errors and omissions excepted.

Beurkk Davis and JWP, shuddergiving, surely we have some other solution be it ever so unlikely. That pairing was the root of all our troubles against Everton, 2x 10 stone midgets. I'd play Guly there in preference to one of those 2 and that's a desperation measure. Surely we must have someone somewhere with a bit of physical presence to replace at least one of them. When are those 2 lads who've been in the England U19s back with us again ? One of them is a midfielder isn't he.

I would have a field day against Seaborne, so would my Gran.

Indeed injuries of all sorts are pretty common in football, they don't all happen during matches or training sessions. Which is why PL clubs have 25 man groups + young players I guess. What most of them don't have is 3 or 4 players who are theoretically part of the squad but will play absolutely no part in the club's PL campaign, like Seaborne,Dickson and Butterfield.

We'll need to as well, if we lose this one I get the feeling that there will be changes, big changes during the IB.

well if he's in the nick it would tend to suggest that it's not all that simple. Then again if you want to lie low you don't want to be a wandering round shopping centres in Bordeaux. You could hang about in my village for a decade and few would take any notice. Lord Lucan could be mayor here, no one would give a toss. -

So then enlighten me, why did they feel the need to run away, he could have just carried on boinking her on the quiet wherever it is they originate from. Why France and not Venezuela or something, wouldn't have been found in Venezuela.Sounds like a jolly ruse to rouster some cash from the media to me, so British..a bit skint, do something stupid, the media will give you money for telling them about it. -
How many tactical mistakes is Adkins allowed?

Said back in the summer that I didn't understand signing Rodriguez at all cost, still don't. We had Lambert,Sharp and Lee available for 1 place on the starting line-up, plus some of these young hotshots that are supposed to be hovering just below first team level. Someone got a bee in their bonnet about "young English players" (who incidentally didn't make the olympic side) and we threw money at him until he couldn't refuse thus condemning Billy Sharp to the scrap heap(well at least temporarily) a few months after signing him because we were his best chance of PL football. -
Didn't Clyne go off with an injury yesterday or was it just tactical; If he's out for any time along with Morgan and Corky we're really in the crapper, unless of course you rate Fox in any way.

Puncheon is supposed to be injured in some way isn't he? Or is that just a rumour being circulated to explain him being dropped in favour of a 7 million £ misfit?

And then again when we lost Cork on Tuesday night. Must have known from last Saturday onwards that Morgan was out for yesterday's game so the plan was probably Davis+Cork with JWP replacing whichever looked the most shàgged at 65 minutes. Corky's silly incident with the turf at SMS blew all that away. -

What is more i don't think he played a single league game in CM last season, it's a specialist role not one for odd job men. Chaplow is far too erratic in both tackling and ball control to be considered as an adequate replacement in CM. Last season virtually the whole of the CM burden was borne by Morgan,Deano and Cork. Now we come to a 2/3/4/5 game period where none of them are available to us. Davis might be OK but he needs a real enforcer alongside him, against Arsenal he played the more defensive role of the 2 in the first half and we got taken apart, 2nd half Morgan moved back and we were more stable. Depending on the seriousness of both injuries we might even need to go looking for an out of contract CM of some quality, won't be easy to find though, guess we'd have to look at places where the season runs at a different period of the year and contracts are up already. -
If Morgan were to be out for another 5 weeks and Cork for 6 I'd think our season will have sunk to a desperation level by the time they're back cos Davis and JWP in CM is far too lightweight and slow . They don't tackle and they don't intercept, they just swan about .

Our player who puts in the most tackles (including successful ones) and the most interceptions in virtually every match. Against Villa think he put in about 10 winning tackles, won a shedload of balls and pulled off about 15 interceptions. For comparison Fonte and Yoshida probably didn't win as many tackles between them and Davis won about 1. Morgan looks lazy but statistics blow that theory to bits, he puts himself about a lot and is often where he needs to be when he needs to be to cut out a pass and get us moving forward thus taking off pressure from the defence. Morgan is also deceptively fast, think I read somewhere that he put in a burst of over 20 mph against Man U and that translates into about a 10.5 sec 100 metres whiich again is f*cking fast. Most adults would struggle at 14/15 seconds. -

Well we might have to spread it about a bit (or lay it off in bookie speak). Apparently there's a big enquiry into players (or their relatives) of Montpellier Handball Club betting on them to lose a match after they'd already won their Championship. -

So if the club were to place a wager of say 40 million with whatever turf account gives the most favourable odds on relegation we'd be quids in, either we stay up and get the cash or we go down and get the cash. Sort of insurance policy. -

35 million always seems like bit of an overestimate to me. 25 million is probably nearer the mark, still a lot of money though. -

So in fact your afternoon was singularly informative. Not only did you watch the match but you could probably talk your way out of a street ambush in the back streets of Naples (or Chicago) -

Knee injury picked up in the last few minutes against Villa apparently. Probably some crunching tackle or other. Morgan is our player with the most tackles and the most interceptions, way way beyond any of the defenders. -

Nothing new though, he was the same after we got thumped a couple of times last season as well. He's not wrong though, we have to take our chances when they arise.
