  1. In the last round against Boro they kept their central defence and strike pair the same as usual and changed virtually everything else. Side was still good enough to beat Boro though, think Palace have a fair old squad at their disposal,a lot of familiar names in there. If we really go for our youth they may well be too good for us.
  2. Jaidi is recovering from an arthroscopy on his knee and I don't think Holmes is fit, didn't he have ankle problems again? No as shurlock says i think we're scraping the barrel tonight,if NA wants to rest first teamers completely then our side is going to be quite new look.
  3. Don't knock it, I sold a gruesome old little jug that I was going to bin for about 800 euros the other day, apparently it was 200+ years old, most of it in my loft, good job the wife doesn't just let me bin stuff that I think is ugly and obsolete.
  4. wouldn't be surprised if it was the Coach House renamed.
  5. I'm not sure that Morgan is 100% fit, took a nasty knock against West Ham,don't think NA wanted to bring him on at all on Saturday.Wouldn't be surprised if we go JWP and Chaplow in centre mid tomorrow.
  6. Neil Danns isn't all that good.
  7. 19 points from 13 games having spent what 15 million or so outright and guaranteed at least the same in salaries is an absolutely crap performance. I said he'd be sacked when I saw their score on Saturday and I wasn't wrong. Football club investors have no time for failure these days, other sides are doing better for far less and that is a direct reflection on the manager's performance. Perhaps Sven doesn't have the grasp of sports science needed nowadays, perhaps he just signed garbage because the Sun and the Mirror said they were good, like taking Theo to the WC in 2006.
  8. No not in your case, but those who travel every other week, take in every home game and seem to spend shedloads in pubs, hotels, programmes, pies and what have you must be either flush with money or push other things to the back of the queue.
  9. told you so. Good players, bad management.Recurring theme with Sven.
  10. Attacking midfielder I think, hope he doesn't get hacked out of existence, looks about 12..
  11. Sometimes I do wonder where they get the money from, I earn quite a lot (well they give a fair wedge anyway) and I'm not at all sure that I could afford 200 euros or so to go to football every week.So how those on a half or a quarter of my pay manage amazes me.
  12. It's certainly better supported than ligue 1, couldn't answer for Turkey though, they get some pretty big crowds down there,
  13. See above, since Monaco came under the jurisdiction of the DNCG their continual debt has been stopped and they can't live with the cost any more. They played in front of 6000 maximum at home in their glory days.
  14. No comparison whatsoever though, the NPC is probably a better championship than the French Ligue 1 if you take away Quatar FC,Adidas FC,City of Lyon FC and Loadsapublicmoney FC. The rest of Ligue 1 is just a feeder for Newcastle. the thing is French clubs aren't allowed debt, someone has to be responsible for every centime that they've spent that they don't have. The DNCG examines every clubs accounts every year and can impose measures from recriuitment embargoes to just shutting club down. Le Havre have no money because the council doesn't give them much so they just have to sell any decent player to balance the books and get the green light each season.Monaco is a classic example, they used to fall outside of the jurisdiction of the DNCG,the instant that it was deemed unfair and they were made to submit their accounts they went into free-fall.
  15. Brighton have major reinforcements in today don't they?
  16. have to sing what??
  17. not at all fussed really, if Brighton win they'll be above West Ham anyway. Don't think we need to be worrying about what other teams are doing for the moment. We need to be concerned about being a lot better next Saturday than last.
  18. yes although he's 17 next week I think. Not a particulary young age to be breaking into the first team for the Carling Cup really.
  19. What has the proprietor of a well known Southampton eatery of the 70's(and still around in Bournemouth) got to do with educational standards.
  20. I presume we don't want to win then, might as well give them a bye with that side and rest up the one or two first teamers that are in it to make up the numbers.
  21. well the half of it that he played anyway. Fonte has a problem at this level,he's getting done for pace and getting caught out of position, ressorts to holding and elbowing to get himself out of tight spots.
  22. Don't we already have a game on Tuesday 29/11?? Hull at home ?
  23. I've only seen the highlights but it would seem to me that he completely mistimes his header, comes off of the side of his head maybe?
  24. I suggest you have a look on the OS, there seems to be some interesting prices in the family area for a combination of the Boro and Posh games.
  25. Doubt that, he's no doubt working on it but he just can't tackle, 3 cards in less than 500 minutes of football is an atrocious record.
