just got back from the game (because I live in Northampton) ...went with 4 mates, first of all, awesome crowd from Southampton and a really good atmosphere to go with it (especially in the first half) ...also liked how the majority of the crowd stood but the ones that wanted to sit had their own little section at the end so the usual tiffs didnt seem to take place.. some great chants, pay up pompey, pompey going down with no money in the bank, shall we bring a fan for you to the mk fans etc etc ...on to the football, ref was actually dire ...made the game a scrap, stopped our creative players from being able to play flowing football e.g. AL and Antonio at times ...Ricky got man handled the whole game, was border line ineffective .. It was almost like Ince said be physical, hoof the ball long, fall over at any given chance and tackle as hard as you can...also thought the sending off was complete bull. Thought Antonio had a really good game, thought Fonte had a rock solid game at the back, KD made some important saves but also thought AL had a very quiet game and was second to lots of balls, but he's had so many good games for us we will let him off ...over than that, MK support an absolute joke Sky or No Sky ... we had easily as many fans as them maybe more, it was funny outside the ground you could almost of been at St Marys, as many st fans wandering about as MK fans .. I think we have given ourself a good chance with the next leg at St Marys now ... COYR

i've got a really horrible feeling if we go a goal up early we will end up losing 2 or 3 one, saints have a habit of scoring then taking their foot off the gas.. this will then lead to us being under immense pressure in the home leg, i'm thinking, let them score first, then us nick one back before half time, then to score another in the second, setting us up nicely for a home win ..in all honesty though I can actually see us losing this heart = 2 - 1 saints head = 2 - 1 dons

I may be being foolish by saying this but ... He has 4 BILLION ... not 50 million like pompey need, or 300 million like other clubs have ...still serious money, but our guy has four, yes four billion ...(some rumour closer to 5) this really is small time for him, and he wouldn't be investing in the training facility's or appointing people like NC if it wasnt a project that he and his friend NC cared deeply about, yes im not thickle enough to think he's gonna be around forever, but i believe this is a project they care about ...besides, 1.5 million (what we seem to be signing championship players for) is so small time to him ...we are a rich man's folly. also, NC come's from a banking background, he will be keeping an eye on things making sure the books aren't unfairly balanced one way or the other ...(i hope)

correct me if i'm wrong : southampton population circa 250 k portsmouth population circa 90 k bournemouth/poole population circa 300 k the irony that bournemouth has the biggest surrounding population but only attracts approx 6 thousand a game??? nothing really to do with the attendance argument, for what its worth I think out attendances have been good this season, but can always be better, I think with 250 k circa population theres always room for growth in the future too when we finally become premiership again and improve our stadium

not over joyed by this signing if it happens, but then again piquionne for portsmouth won the lead boot award in france for no goals and was having season after season of bad football but the fresh start at fratton has meant he's giving it his all and scoring, still not over joyed though ...in pardew we trust however

we arent gonna get much of a better chance than this to progress to the next round, not such a small club that we would underestimate them (almost like we did with luton) but not too big that they are gonna give us absolute hell (especially with the season they have had so far) ...we will raise our game just enough i think and with a new non cup tied additions we can really win this and progress, good draw!

think we are far from the finished article so need a few players in the transfer window, but then again luton coming to st marys were the under dogs so always going to throw everything at us and its hard to play teams with that mentality, none the less we scraped through (and thats all that matters in the early stages of a cup run) so bring on the next round ...pompey would be good, or one of the big boys for a giant killing ..
