And limited creativity. I like Boufal as much as the next person but he's yet to truly take the team by the scruff of the neck and make himself undroppable; I've been critical of Tadic going back to Koeman - I see a player who's stagnated but he's not a fundamentally different under Puel or MP. And Redmond can't be relied on at the moment.

I didn't say it was rubbish. I'm saying it's not as good as the squads you're drawing comparisons with. We're no longer a squad that sits comfortably above the midtable mush, even as it falls short of the top six or seven (Poch 2013/2014). We're a team with a much lower floor but shouldn't be anywhere near the relegation places which is due to some bad luck but largely ****** poor management.

Most of the players that accounted for those finishes have left. If you’ve been paying attention and watching, we’ve sold our best players. Frankly only Bertrand and Tadic (who was frequently dropped by Koeman) have been mainstays in terms of games played and impact on performance. You might also count Davo but so far he’s been a shadow of seasons past. But if you want to go all MLG and say that the likes of JWP, Targett and Yoshida were in every squad that finished in the top half -indeed they have more pedigree than anyone on your staggeringly literal and naïve measure, then fill your boots pal. There is certainly greater overlap between this year's squad and last year's squad; but it was a squad that finished closer to the relegation places than 7th point-wise. Your argument is a bit rich given you were among the loudest on here to proclaim last season's finish was a statistical mirage. Of course, you've got it drummed into your little head that it’s all about the managers and nothing to do with the players. Life's complicated pal. It allows for more than one explanation. It’s possible to have a midtable squad which because of a lack of real quality can never quite rest easy and then have a manager who turns that latent unease into a full-blown sh*t-show. What’s happened to you? You were always wet but generally pretty thoughtful and balanced. #bangaverage

Perhaps better than buying 'prospects' whose claim to fame is that they worked part-time at La Masia gift shop during their school holidays. #pedigree

Which soggy is the more moralising and sanctimonious: the fiverweb version or the sotonian incarnation? Discuss.

Jesus wept. How many assertions, clichés and unevidenced claims can you squeeze in one paragraph.

Did a number on our Les 35-50s, 1m20s, 1m30s and 2m00s

Yep that's him.

Norway isn't part of the customs union. Agree the Jihadist hard Brexiteers have lost - that's why Farage is coyly angling for another referendum. Nowt to do with Parliament.

Low on confidence, 2-0 away from home is still a slender lead, regardless of the manager. You always expect the home team to have a spell of pressure and a quick goal can completely turn the game. We've already shown that we get bullied in the air (a personnel issue) and Watford are one of the most physical sides in the league. We were perhaps fortunate that they didn't play to their strengths and exploit our weaknesses in the first half.

Weren't Les and Semmens already directors?

Still peddling that myth.

Have those three ever started together?

Jamie couldn’t take the negativity and the abuse levelled at Les and the board anymore. #happyclapper

Long is arguably versatile and fit to press the CB and drop into midfield when needed - in much the same way Okazaki does for Leicester -and one reason why I think we could accommodate both him and Gabbi in the side without conceding too much space. We should have brought Lemina on sooner. If the rest of the side is treating the football like a hot potato, at least, have someone who's brave enough on the ball to carry it forward. Thought Lemina calmed us down when he came on for precisely that reason.

Spot on. Doesn't help living in Spurs country.

Might as well go dressed as nonces.

Perhaps Eric ‘bad back’ Black has been reincarnated as a 6 foot 4 Swiss-German trust fund baby? Other than that I have no idea why the OP posts on here -and as you say, the comments are largely irrelevant to the here and now.

Too many 93rd min attacking subs? Seriously, though, I guess he lost his place to Sims?

Understand Yoshida was out injured; anyone know what the story was with Redmond?

You forgot protecting teams from refs like Whitey Grandad. Otherwise, spot on.

Wrong. It’s currently only used in a limited set of circumstances: goals, straight red card, penalties and mistaken identity. That may or may not expand in the future depending on stakeholder demand.
