  3. Are you a MLG parody act?
  4. Let's be clear: I'm sure the club was aware of fan dissatisfaction; but to say that the club blindly followed the fans is nonsense pal. If you want to go down that rabbit hole, I'd say that player discontent played a bigger role: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/southampton-players-pushing-for-puel-exit-jm9j72zkk Also recall that stories were being leaked that Puel wasn't meeting the clubs expectations well before the end of the season. So much so that Puel was being grilled about this in prematch interviews.
  5. Yep very possibly, though there are plenty of reasons why deals may take time, especially mid-season. With VVD, Liverpool wanted the player for nearly a year. After the news on the sale of VVD broke, there were suggestions that we close to competing a deal for a player e.g. the mysterious AN OTHER from France.
  6. That's why I think the fans-got-Puel-sacked line is nonsense. By not bringing anyone in (though we sold Jrod), the club was implicitly saying that our attacking options were adequate -just that Puel hadn't got the best out of them.
  7. Regardless of the team, I would have said get rid. Hard to know what's gone on: is it that VVD was such a **** that the situation became untenable and we needed to get rid asap or was the plan still to keep him till the summer but our poor start and lack of goals meant freeing up cash to bring in reinforcements was a bigger priority?
  8. I'd say our defensive signings have been better than our attacking signings - and we need the latter.
  9. It was the view of the vast majority, though it was also based on the (reasonable) assumption that he would see the rest of the season out with us, not go in January, having missed the first month.
  10. Happier days when Uncle Les wasn't so camera-shy.
  11. I like Iheanacho - just not sure how he’d fit in our formation.
  12. Nice website bottlejob. You certainly browse some ‘interesting’ and ‘colourful’ sites. Does your wife know about your browsing habits? Anything else we should know about?
  13. Like who?
  14. Wasn’t he appointed by Kat to find a buyer for the club -or at least test the market when she was reportedly looking to sell in 2014?
  15. Good post pal. Do you know why Gareth Rogers left?

  17. I see...that's why Lord D thinks the sun shines out of his arse. #political
  18. Don't worry once Ladotelli arrives, all will be forgotten.
  19. Same kind of team. Big, physical, fast.
  20. Andy Reid. What a state ...still, looks thinner than during his playing days.
  21. The point was about our league form, so it's probably better to compare like with like - league games with league games (but i am persuadable if it means so much to you). FWIW my point isn't that we simply fell off a cliff after the league cup - its also that once we knew we were safe, we tailed off. Either way, the poster fails to explain why in including cup games, he included the FA cup games (a competition which we basically trashed - look at the lineups, not least because of the extra league cup games); but simultaneously failed to include the league cup games. Perhaps you can explain what the little fella was thinking or doing - it stands out as a screaming inconsistency. Is it the rule to include some cup games but not others now Ultimately I was making a point about performances which are as much as what you see with your eye as they are with mechanically reproducing and regurgitating results without any real understanding or context. I maintain there was a dropoff towards the end of the season, especially at home.
  22. Not sure why you're including FA cup games, a competition we didn't prioritise (btw the first Norwich game was 2-2) and only looking at 10 -instead of 13 league games. Note that December period was also crazy busy and involved plenty of chopping and changing to keep players fresh, so not exactly a good benchmark. Much of the criticism of Puel over the finishing stretch was the lack of goals and entertainment, especially at home. There was a noticeable drop-off after the cup final, particularly after Gabbi got injured. Sometimes it's good to watch games with your eyes pal (for example, we played very well away at places like Swansea and Burnley included in your sample of December games, notwithstanding the results). But crack on.
  23. And he also said "To be fair, I thought they [our fans] were in good voice today as well, and came here in good numbers.” But guess that doesn't make as juicy a headline.
  24. What next - the perpetual motion machine and loopholes in the laws of physics?
