  1. Gina Yashere?
  2. Was Cardiff the 2007/08 season? Remember being held back for that one (like Swansea) but can't remember if everyone was.
  3. Yep, you're right. Fulham then.
  4. Everton (h) at the end of last season.
  5. Pretty boring draw all round.
  6. Agree, though always thought that Ali G was a pretty serviceable vehicle for Baron Cohen, the propagandist. Should take a leaf from his cousin's book.
  7. Burnley away 2011 - we were getting overrun in the middle, should have been trailing and not looking like leaders. Morgan came on and was the best player on the park, even getting the equaliser. People talk about the Ipswich scoop but forget the larger point that Morgan was only a sub in that game and that Hammond/Cork was Adkins preferred combo. It was only after the Burnley game that Morgan began to pull away with the starting CM spot and the rest is history.
  8. Most female comedians - Miranda's smirky knowingness is the pick of a bad bunch (US female comedians are much better) But most of my ire is saved for Jack Whitehall. Atrocious.
  9. Wouldn't fit the way we now play. Whenever Lambert had trouble with the CBs, he had licence to drop deep or come to the sides to compensate (Fulham away last season is a good example). RK's system doesn't permit the same flexibility -and as a result you lose a lot of Lambert's potential value to the side as I don't think he's as physically dominant as Pelle.
  10. Why do you call it the Sadio? Makes no sense.
  11. Why? They were happy to loan Moses to Liverpool last season.
  12. You sure? not showing on their own Chinese language site. Only says they're showing the City/United games. This is what they're showing live: http://v.qq.com/live/sport/list.html
  13. At least, ITV did overkill right. Just as annoyed that the draw's on Monday evening.
  14. Very interesting, thanks. Didn't know that Dortmund and Arsenal had actually made offers -or even of Dortmund's interest.
  15. If you believe one very influential strand of thought, it's all the Scots-Irish fault anyway. If in doubt, blame Ulster (or perhaps the English or even the Romans) Anatole Lieven's "America Right or Wrong: An Anatomy of American Nationalism" and James Webb's "Born Fighting: How the Scots-Irish Shaped America" aren't a bad place to start, though the narrative has been questioned by serious historians -see Ulster to America: The Scots-Irish Migration Experience, 1680-1830.

Don't flatter yourself - I disagree with you because you're wrong as you were persistently wrong during the summer. The rest is in your dim little head. Non compus mentus, you might say (though I would insist on the correct declension) No my point is that studying law in itself which is an extremely rarefied and abstract exercise where the facts are always known in advance doesn't make you, me or the next man anymore qualified to speculate on the merits of this case. On one level, quite the opposite.

Not sure what your Mickey Mouse law certificate or your Dellboy Latin have got to do with anything. I'm going to make the assumption that you didn't study law in any real depth given legal reasoning takes the facts for granted. As the facts are known and uncontroversial ex ante, the main game is to apply them creatively to case law - nice intellectual gymnastics but a quaint fiction and absolutely no use when having to think through inconsistencies in fact and how to interpret them which is all anyone is doing here, some more convincingly than others. And perhaps one reason why you feel you have to lean so hard on bull**** credentials to give yourself a fighting chance.
  18. Missing out on Gazza - the Academy's greatest mistake? A mildly ironic backdrop for LR's interview.
  19. Gateshead stroking it around very impressively.
  20. Very happy with Koeman but MP was also praised for improving players. Jrod, Lallana, Morgan, Fonte, Shaw/Chambers, Lovren (with hindsight) all made strides under him. Arguably one of the reasons MP got the Spurs job was the belief that he could get the best out of an expensively assembled but underperforming squad.
  21. Don't you think he could have been better positioned for the Carzola and Sanchez chances yesterday (decent recovery in the end for the Sanchez chance, though he still managed to get a decent shot off)? In both cases, thought Toby lost track of his blindside which is easy to do when you're used to playing in the middle and the fullback is mopping up.
  22. I liked how Kelvin kicked the ball against Chambers back as he was coming on for the second half (all in jest of course)
  23. Of course, Savage's larger point was that Gerrard is shot as a DM/CM and no longer has the needed energy (which many, including the England manager, until recently, felt he did). Owen is far worse in my opinion: timid, unimaginative and a total sycophant.

    Mane

I just pointed out he was only dropped for one game. I've also said he was poor in a few games; but had also seen enough to know that he could offer something. But being poor doesn't justify the hyperbole and breathless c**p seen on this thread and others. That's kneejerk - reread the thread if you need a refresh.
