To be honest, he didn't do that much against us, especially at SMS. At their place, I think he muscled Jos off the ball to win a header for their opener and was neat and tidy, dropping deep but didn't really look that threatening. Indeed, he snatched at a few chances. That said, I still rate the player and think a clever, hold-up player is so crucial to the way we play, we can't have enough of them.

Is that saganowski at 8m15s - saying that every heavy-framed, dull-looking, inbred pole looks the same. Give the whities a bad name

Would say Phillips never looked the same after the hamstring injury he picked up in jan/feb. -
Certainly not true of the North African countries - and that's where the efforts appear to be concentrated.

Another shining example of the Southampton Way.

Maybe he confused east africa with the middle east - and stuck Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco in the latter category. Its inaccurate but not totally ridiculous. East Africa then becomes a weird mash-up of Middle East and Africa.

Berkovic - I can understand. John Hartson did the world a mitzvah kicking that petulant little **** in the head. But Kachoul?
-
North Africa doesn't produce many flops - our experience with the region has been overwhelmingly positive - kachoul, new boots el khalej, belmadi, safri (who would have been amazing in the current set up), jaidi.

Still remember his run in L1 where he picked up the ball at the edge of our box, took it out, laid it off and ran the length of the pitch to meet and almost score from the resulting cross. Watching him recover for breath after only made it more epic. Wonder if he is staying around - the tweets from Lallana and Dickson seemed pretty final. Hope he does...

Nabil Hassan is a pretty credible source - a Bournemouth lad. Covers our games for the Beeb. -

Saying that, they do have a Fletcher who is very decent in the air. So maybe many of the crosses were just wayward... -

Agree - our squad lacks premiership experience, so one or two wise heads/safe hands would add some useful balance. -
Did you see his interview on Newsnight - even Paxo warmed to him. His thoughts on the state of football in this country were certainly more interesting than your war-and-peace digressions on here....

Only place I've found goal music tolerable is palace.

Legend. Sure he has issues -he's the first to admit he has- but the scumbag comments are way off. A strong sense of justice and dislike of hypocrisy coupled with a few demons and difficulty fitting in -that's all. Big deal - there's a lot, lot worse in the world.

Only really know the East Coast and parts of the Mid-West - my old man lives in Baltimore (not really a place you would want to emigrate to). My aunt (a yank) used to live in Seattle for several years -she worked at the main paper there and really liked it. Am intrigued by the place on the basis of her recommendation, though worth bearing in mind a few downsides: the dreary weather, it can feel isolated and homogeneous and the people can be c**ts, a bit cold and aloof, a bit liberal elite (no doubt, true of the women). But coming from blighty and the south, you can probably take the reserve (along with the defeatist weather and funny transport) in your stride - its probably preferable to some overbearing, overfriendly yank anyway.

It's called consistency ffs -check the word up

£1bn on a bunch of mercenaries, toure claiming he would like to return to barca in the run up to city's most important game in 40 years.... Our run-in was exhillerating enough esp as it was the culmination of three years stress and drama. We came from nowhere this season; while city have been half expected to win the prem for a while now.

Geoff shreeves- what a c**k

Can understand barton's frustration- at least, he got value for money for his sending off. Cheating argie. Two reds and there wouldn't have been any complaints.
-
Frantic football, stuff of nightmares for city fans with the knick knack paddy wack song echoing on the other channel. Almost forget they were 1 up. Thank god our last game was such a cakewalk in the end.
-
He did -scored a great solo goal for them- but only after recovering from quite a lengthy injury.
-
To make things worse, didn't he get injured after the Leicester game anyway? So it wasn't just a case of not being picked, he was unavailable.

Of course, Pearce would still know the likes of Kelvin, Lallana, Morgan and Cork from his time with us and with teammates like Karacan (Cork's childhood mate and a pal of AL) and Mills (ex-Saints), he might be privy to dressing-room gossip. ...of course, any two-bob sh*t-stirrer would be pointing this out too.
