Jesus wept- MLG-itus is spreading.

Nah, it still belongs to the skates- that they were able to sing it at end of the derby says it all.

Lets not forget that he broke into football through the nonleagues via Tooting, so he's a late starter and has been playing catch-up. And the last couple of years have done him no good at all. The lad has needed to settle down -but apart from season with us and a few start-stop spells with Colchester and Sheff W (both of which have been v.successful), he's hardly played any football. Reading had every right to keep him but breaking into a successful side with the likes of Kebe/Mcanuff in front of you was always a tall ask (most Reading fans I know -thank god I don't work there- rate him higher than Robson Kanu who is third choice winger). Which is to say that unlike Jonno who played more than 100 games for Scunny and frankly struggled with us in L1, its too early to draw the same conclusions on Antonio. Finally, I agree with you- raw pace means f**k all. But Antonio also has power -rare in a winger- as well as a pretty decent finish. I was disappointed that Waigo wasn't given more chances with us; but I couldn't begrudge Antonio that he made RM his own.

Considering that Reading have had some of the best wingers in the league -Kebe and MacAnuff and McDermott has put together a successful, well-drilled side over the last two seasons, dont think its any slight on Antonio that his opportunities have been limited. That's the way things are sometimes.

Antonio can easily cut in the championship, if not higher.

Apart from being slightly sanctimonious, don't what the issue with Mawhinney. Are you saying that we should have been spared a 10 point deduction? The rules are the rules. All I know is that if he was still in charge, the skates would have been put through the wringer.

Morgan also mentioned going to vegas in his interview with the French press.

Had been battling it for years but always thought it was something in the background and just took it for granted. Huge shame - thought their latest album was excellent, a real return to form. Listened to it nonstop during last season's promotion push.

Can't complain about about KD though. Worthy winner over Lambert.

Guly has an amazing work rate when he tracks back - its no surprise that NA threw him on at the siege of Elland Road notwithstanding an injury to provide a bit more cover and graft. The impression of laziness stems more from the fact that he tends to hold his run or check back when attacking.
-
Very easy for West Ham tonight - they are a strong, compact side. Still they'll have nightmares of Zigic springing like a salmon at the backpost to head in a 90th min winner in any playoff final.
-
Indeed, not all Gulys goals/contributions are on here - his brace against Palace on Boxing Day being a good example.
-
Enjoy tonight fat sam and all you irons

Overrated-one of those s****y soulless grounds that's tucked behind a dual carriageway and only really accessible by bus a la Reading,MK Dons and Leeds though Elland Road will always be a class apart. Takes any edge off the game. Maybe it's different in the prem but home fans are well away from the away fans while the stands are too far from the pitch and not properly enclosed. All in all, a pretty nondescript day out that punches well below its weight.

F**k me, mate - I'll go and read the guardian or watch bbc2 if I want this frankfurt school mumbo jumbo. Of course, you forget to mention that casual culture is probably more guilty of cynical marketing and commodification than any other part of football. Many of the people who are railing against the sky machine don't realise that they are mugs in their own right. -
Fox at Fratton. Should have had a camera following him all game.

TBF a lot had bought their tickets assuming it would be a saturday fixture and our first away game of the season.

Brother bumped into 'arry in the Marriott in Canary Wharf last night and he was calling us a "fantastic club". Very happy we're up. -

Fancy dress for end of season games has been around for eons- its as english as terrace culture. And its not specific to our club. -
From what I remember, I thought we started quite brightly, got the ball down and knocked it around nicely. If anything, they scored against the run of play but, after that, we flagged badly.

Every final game of the season I've gone since the late 80's has involved some kind of fancy dress, usually among the away fans. And Im sure its not just happened at our gaff.
