Thought surviving the first half against Cardiff at SMS was a turning point. They could have quite easily gone 2up and we faced dropping out of the top 2 for the first time but we recovered in the 2nd half, got a pen and drew the game. While we were pretty ordinary that night, the result brought the mini-slump to an end and was the catalyst for a sustained run of form.

Connolly has struggled horribly when teams have pushed up but in games like the skates and reading the opposition, especially in the 2nd half, backed off and was camped in its own box. In those situations, with his awareness and ability to link up with Lallana, Connolly might have offered something.
