    Adkins off?

For some, perhaps. I just don't see it that way. Football is a fickle business. Good to remind yourself of your own fallibility if only to appreciate how precious these moments are. Call it the pathos of the underdog or just being philosophical. But odd it isn't.

    Adkins off?

Wasn't a strange interview at all. Some utter clowns on here. Just humility that nothing lasts forever. Need to acknowledge that even when for all intents and purposes you're on top of the world. Allows you to savour the moment.
  3. We've been spoilt but with last year's feats still fresh in people's minds, wonder how the experiences compare. Better? Worse? Same? Different? While I was celebrating yesterday, amplified by the unprecedented media love-in (f**k that), did have a smile for last year's accomplishments which had to deal with very different set of pressures and truly transformed us into a team.
  4. Wouldn't mind an african upfront or on the wings. Seemed to adapt pretty well to English football and represent good value. Maiga at sochaux, mayuka at young boys or bony at vitesse would be decent shouts.

  6. I thought you're the one who w**ked over stats and others statistical illiteracy. Newcastle would be called an outlier....
  7. Big sam and all irons fans, enjoy the playoffs.
  8. Though he was playing right for the first half. Was my MOTM too but that Coventry side would have struggled in L1. Had a traces of our 2008/09 team. They had some nice possession but it really was men against boys.
  9. Pitch was a lot harder than I expected.
  10. Looking forward to seeing Pards
  11. Wtf was that comment about win bonuses about?
  12. FI hope the 28% of echo readers who agreed with steptoe and son are taking an equally principled stance.
  13. Great picture- was a great away day topped off with a great night in harrogate.
  14. Yep, not too much respect here either. He basically inherited a world-beating squad (no coincidence that its pushing on in age). Hallmark of a truly great manager is the ability to refresh and rebuild, something Fergy has done on a consistent and the likes of Chelsea and to a lesser extent Arsenal have not.
  15. From his interview on their version of player, he certainly thinks elements are doing him down - whether its some gobsh*te on talksport, a persecution complex or something else, f**k knows. http://www.ccfc.co.uk/articles/20120426/player-thorn-on-southampton-trip_2264353_2750374
  16. True but you can't control what the national media says or writes. Watch Thorn's pre-match interview and he's seriously p**sed off by the lack of respect some are showing his team.
  17. Brum? Admittedly they were chasing the game but that second half was worse than the Blitz.
  18. Thought ref missed a pen in the last min with lallana through on goal- that's before he turned into a little diver.
  19. Expect a call from Cameron's Nudge Unit
  20. Dear Nick Being a free-wheeling visionary, no doubt you are aware of practices and innovations in the wider leisure industries. Can you install bouncers at the new gates to turn away those who do not comply with dress code or just look funny. A set of scales might be an additional option to consider. A cost-benefit analysis supports the feasibility of these measures, including a projected decline in the tedious s**t that clogs up your customers mongboards. Yours

  22. Or Blackburn winning at Old Trafford...
  23. Thought surviving the first half against Cardiff at SMS was a turning point. They could have quite easily gone 2up and we faced dropping out of the top 2 for the first time but we recovered in the 2nd half, got a pen and drew the game. While we were pretty ordinary that night, the result brought the mini-slump to an end and was the catalyst for a sustained run of form.
  24. Connolly has struggled horribly when teams have pushed up but in games like the skates and reading the opposition, especially in the 2nd half, backed off and was camped in its own box. In those situations, with his awareness and ability to link up with Lallana, Connolly might have offered something.
  25. Known to flash a card or two. Likes his reds.
