Given how utterly miserable it is at the moment, let's have some nostalgia. You only get one vote and the game is simple, pick one player who on their initial performance/debut/early form had a bit about them and you thought/hoped would turn out to be a strong performer for Saints only to leave on a free two years later? I remember a very decent performance from Jamie White one game in the Championship (I think) however, ultimate award goes to Leandre Griffit. Thought he'd be the new Henry.

Weren't we sniffing around Iheanacho before his move to Leicester or am I confused with a previous FM save? Would be an interesting signing addition and perhaps the 'reset' he needs. Another one I would put 2+2 together to make 8 with is Callum Wilson, I noticed he was doing a lot of conditioning/1-1 work back in Dorset with Matt Ritchie and Ryan Fraser (Yes MLG I know they all played for Bournemouth). Other than that, I have zero clue who is this mystery PL striker could bt? Ayoze Perez Neal Maupay Agustin Delgado?

Off with a broken foot at the moment, so fired up Championship Manage 01/02 and conceded a brace to a certain Marcus Allback at Heerenveen. Brought up memories of Stuart Gray sniffing around him back in 2001. He ended up joining Aston Villa a season or two later. With the exception of Javier De Pedro, who do you recall us being heavily linked with but never quite materialising? (feel free to include Andy Reid turning us down from Forest)

Real and PSG never looked at Gavin. However, he is rated so highly by Pompey, some rate him more than David James. Also worth remembering the Michael Poke connection who is the lead GK coach at Pompey and worked with Gav last season. Off the pitch he's a cracking lad, very unassuming and keeps himself to himself, put him in an 18 yard and you see a different side. Made two mistakes last season attempting to 'play out from the back' which are the exception, his ability in possession typically is excellent both with the ball on the floor and in his hands. I witnessed arguably the greatest live save I've seen last season at FP from Gavin, so I have nothing other than positive things to say about him.
