  1. Which we did, didn't we? The point is what he is saying is correct. There are probably 30 odd new stadiums built around that time in England. The Premier league had become the big business capital of the footballing world. Whoever was in charge at that point would of realised you have the potential to take money from more then 15000 people every week. The club had the potential to make more. To do that would have meant we had to leave The Dell because as he mentioned it had just been re-developed to an all seater stadium just 2 years prior. If Saints were going to compete in the new climate of the league they would need to generate more money. It is a no brainer really.
  2. Lowe was our worst chairman but there are far worse overall. That Tisdale guy almost destroyed Leeds. And i agree with St Marco. The natural evolution of the league and football after the Hillsborough disaster meant the club was going to get a new stadium eventually. If you look at the period between 1996 to 2003 a lot of new stadiums were built in that period. Many by clubs similar to Saints. Teams who had smaller sized stadiums that would not fit with the modern demand to watch games. Very few stadiums like The Dell are still around in the top flight of football.
  3. Because all those who have kept a manager longer then a year are above league one?
  4. Who are those 10 teams out of interest? I can guess Arsenal - Man Utd - Liverpool - Stoke - Everton - Cardiff - Doncaster - Middlesborough - S****horpe. All of which have done pretty well in recent years. Your saying if you keep a manager long enough eventually you will do well?
  5. Taking a rough guess but i assume the op does not like Pardew then?
  6. 16th Then go on to be promoted next year
  7. I think StM has called it spot on. The season has started now, there are no excuses. If you look at recent form we are better then we were. Imagine if it was the first few games of the season and we won against Yeovil and Bristol and then drew the two away games against Charlton and Carlisle. Sure you would be happy with that? I would.
  8. Wow that is quality. That guy has some serious skills
  9. Not sure i quite understand what Alucard is trying to say. StM is saying we should of beaten relegation fancied teams in CCC while we were in that league if we were to stay up. And this season saying we should beat everyone below top 6 if we are to stay in league one. As far as i can see only person who expects the club to beat the top teams in this league is you Alucard? Most people including myself see this year as the building season that will flow into next season when we will battle for promotion. You can't compare what happened last season with this season. We have lost Skacel,Rasiak,Euell,DMG,Surman,BWP,Dyer,John and so on. We have a whole new team now. Cheer up son, could be a lot worse. If you only smile when we are in the prem league winning once every few months then your not going to be happy for a long long time. Come watch some games, you might be surprised because you mentioned hoof ball and we don't play like that anymore.
  10. I think generally he is right with what he say's. Where as you on the other hand....
  11. Most people i'm sure are happy with the way the club is going. It is going forwards 1 step at a time. Much better then going backwards 1 step at a time.
  12. So he had half of our games last season, got us relagated, was not even close to keeping us up. But deserves a chance? If he kept us up then i would agree, he has not done anything to deserve staying on. If he is getting the job for being loyal then give it to the tea lady who worked 3 weeks without being paid, not to the ****er who got us relegated.....
  13. Hmm what would i rather have, a morale victory over the Football League or having MLT as our chairman, Keegan as our manager and some rich mysterious Batman type as our owner? Yeah i think i will go for the morale victory....
  14. Poor manager who has made too many poor decisions this season. If he can't motivate the youngsters and pro's playing in the CCC how will he do it in a lower league of league one?
  15. Poll is a good idea. Same people saying the same things in every thread. My vote is Michael Wilde
  16. All that matters now is the results. As a fan all we can do is cheer the boys on. So i shall be doing that. Weren't kids tickets £5? Hopefully won't be any trouble for their sakes.
  17. Watch out StM he will report you!
  18. I couldn't believe they said he doesn't train much due to his knees. What a job hey!
  19. Think some people need to remember who we are and where we are. We have won 9 games from 39. That is 23% of our games being won. But people think we will then win 4 of our last 7 games. 57%? People need to come back to earth. We are capable of surviving but if you don't play to win how will you win?
  20. I think your right Marco. If we fail to beat Charlton then one of the teams around us will be picking up points that weekend. I don't like the thought of having to go to Watford and Wolves without having the 3 points from Charlton in the bag. If we lose to them then we deserve to go down.
  21. 2 points every 3 games means 0.66 points a game. So times 8 games would mean a total projection of 5 points. Think as you say we will be relegated if we repeat the last 3 games.
  22. Rubbish game again. Was like JP was back! Can't seem to change ideas/tactics when we hit a brick wall. A loss at Blackpool and then a loss or draw to Charlton and you have to say that will probably be that.
  23. Have to disagree as Wotten was poor. He was playing as a defensive midfielder but let his man go too many times. That took him out of the game. Saeijs had to cover for a lot of his mistakes. Made too many fouls, and almost got punched by one of their guys for a late tackle. Marek was my man of the match.
  24. That first one is excellent. Will print that out and put on the office wall!
  25. Without meaning to get in the middle of the lovers tiff I sympathise with Marco. Sounds like you are replying Danny to say he is a kid who wants to have the last word. Then say you want to ignore him. Very similar to what you accuse him of. Not sure if posting it helps other then to fan the flames. I have not been on this website long but this part looks more like Vietnam then a peaceful place for Saints fans to chat. Marco just ignore them, don’t take it so personnel. From where i am sitting some of you are as bad as each other and equally to blame. Talk about games not each other.
