  1. I was goin to suggest Dave Whelan...
  2. Lee Todd played an oompa loompa in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory and is now Johnny Depp's butler There's also talk that he might play Nik-Nak in the remake of The Man With The Golden Gun if Depp lets him have the week off. ALSO When Frankie Bennett retired from football, he went back to his old job and was voted UK waiter of the year 2006
  3. the one with all the decent beers from mal over the shop?
  4. but even at 50%, he was better than anything else we had at the time
  5. having lived here for four years, i think you're right! Which pub?
  6. no place for fascists in football - that's why he's going to Swindon
  7. there's another reason to stop watching Top Gear and watch Channel 5 instead!
  8. I'd love to say it is, but I've forgotten what he looks like! Is Perry Groves his ginger stepbrother?
  9. I know a fair few of the Swindon Town players do, so wouldn't be too surprised if ours did as well
  10. Thoughts?
  11. Best defender who never got to pull on an England shirt and one of my all time favourite Saints. RIP Deano
  12. I'd guess it gives us an advantage to keep the other team guessing because they will be more concerned about who's playing for us than we are about who's playing for them. Even if it gives us a slight advantage, it's good practice for when we're in higher leagues where a slight advantage could be the difference between a win and a draw.
  13. anyone know what he's up to now?
  14. unless your contact is Nick Watkins or Andrew Fitton then I find this very hard to believe
  15. A friend of mine who's a gashead told me that there was a season when he wasn't scoring but then on boxing day scored a screamer and ended up scoring loads in the 2nd half of the season. So come on the xmas dinner!
  16. In the first half he wasn't great at all - he missed chances (but as Adkins highlighted in his post match interview - Lallana missed three he should have buried) but in the second half I thought he made intelligent runs which made space for other players and led the line well. He laid the ball off well (especially in the area where he found players with some great passes) and created two goals by keeping a cool head where others may have lost theirs. I don't think he's a striker and would be better suited playing in the hole behind the front two but we don't use that system so it's a bit of mix and match with him
  17. apart from his two assists

    Hammond

It is unfair that Hammond seems to have been singled out for yesterday's dismal performance but he is still an average League One midfielder and I think there are about 5 or six teams in this league where he wouldn't get into the first 11. If we're looking to win this league or get automatic promotion, then we need better players in CM like Chaplow as a start. Hammond is still a trier and won't give up, which is why he should be in the squad and a good impact player to help see games out, but maybe not as a starting player and subsequently not the captain
  19. Gazza's looking for a job - as long as he can get there by bus
  20. but neither he, or the bbc want to get landed with a defamation suit!
  21. Isn't it a bit of a shame that a thread which talks about the commemoration of 11 people who lost their lives during one of the most viscious and debilitating wars of the last century has descended into talking about whether or not our chairman is nice to work for or not?
  22. What happened to the fella from Reading? (not saying he's the answer to any prayers)
  23. probably - seeing that Chaplow has made an impact at almost every club he's been at and then bombed out after a season. I hope Chaplow does well for us and I like him, but I do wonder where he goes wrong.
