He's said that he's going to do things his way now so it'll be interesting to see what he can achieve now all of those shackles are off. If we lose he'll have no one else to blame and nowhere else to turn. If he can survive the frenzy this week, beat Wolves and turn around this form keeping us up, he'll deserve a frigging medal... Big match for us - but an even bigger and career-defining game for Jones.
-
Sadly Ralph was done last summer, he was taking us nowhere and played a key role in this ongoing relegation. The current problem is the replacement, not the sacking. Fuck knows where we go from here. We're so crap we're not even the laughing stock - Liverpool have taken that from us too.
-
I don't think applying heavy make-up during the forum will help, but I guess anything is worth a try.
-
He didn't blame fans. What I read into it was some sort of interference from above, which seems quite possible. Either way he's opened a small can of worms.
-
Dreadful - Wolves could be an interesting afternoon. If that goes to form it will be toxic. Jones just bigged himself up and said "I've listened too much to other people, I need to do my own thing" Says he's going to do things his way now.

Detectorists, Motherland, Inside no.9 and Ghosts are pretty good examples of quality stuff. They're not the same standard as On the Buses, Are You Being Served or Bless this House, but they're a good effort.

Ah, but the positives of getting on a bit....you were there when those great films and classic records first came out, stuff like Bowie's incredible early seventies hits were just new releases on the chart show, ditto The Jam, The Clash and Two Tone - punk and New Wave was just part of everyday life, I saw Bobby Stokes score, Eddie Kidd jumping over buses, Archie Gemmel's goal against Holland, Barry Sheene, James Hunt, the threat of Nuclear war, wrestling at 4pm, Star Trek, Linda Lusardi, there was no X-Factor shit, you were allowed coconut chewing tobacco and chocolate cigarettes - life was properly happening and we were actually there, swigging it down to the dregs! What have they got to enjoy now? Ed fucking Sheeran, cheese in an aerosol can, maths until they are eighteen followed by fifty soul-destroying years of shit jobs working for twats. Whereas we, my creaking and small-bladdered friends, we lived through the glory days.

Southampton(1) 1-2 (3)Newcastle - League Cup Semi Final - Second Leg

The most important thing we had to do yesterday was sign some quality upfront. Sadly this match became secondary - respect to those who went. -

But he's done nothing wrong...was the official line, right up until yesterday. And if Rishi was alarmed by Zahawi's tax affairs he's gonna freak if someone tells him about the PPE contracts. -
I don't think the voters need to know where he managed to borrow £30m unsecured from, or how much tax he tried to dodge. Corruption and fraud is a very personal thing, it's just a matter for him and his very warm horses. I'm sure the lender asked nothing in return so the voters don't need detail, the independent investigation by the party donor they have selected should clear it all up.

If Joe Jordan was on the pitch Pope would still be recovering from their earlier collision, probably in A and E.

Southampton 0-1 Newcastle League Cup Semi Final 1st Leg

And Joelinton is in there for his clinical finishing?.... It looks a little like that was put together by a Man Utd fan. -
Southampton 0-1 Newcastle League Cup Semi Final 1st Leg

Other than petrifying all those around him with his cavalier attitude to positioning and team structure, and his obsession with floating dozens of beautifully-hit long passes directly to opposition players, what does Lyanco actually bring to the table? His very occasional killer pass in the other half is nice, making him dangerous in both boxes, but you have to think that contributing towards the odd clean sheet now and again might be more useful. -
That's clearly the plan, get out of the cup as quick as possible so we can enjoy the league campaign. We'll probably try to make it less obvious on Saturday, but we need to get rid of all distractions. How did your plane protest go? Have you cut up your season ticket yet and done a thumbs-down frowning-face picture for The News?

Anyone know what Lyanco's passing stats were? He does realise that we are the ones in red and white? -
Lyanco plays as if he has a massive mistake in him, but in reality he manages to give away vital goals through minor errors. You don't like to pick on individuals when the team is poor but he's been at the crime scene of nearly every goal in the Jones era. Less fist-pumping, more disciplined defending required.

There's no polite way of putting it - the multiple abortions he had to finance plus the other paternity payments, the lavish lifestyle and the divorce all caught up with him in 2020. Top bloke though, got all the big decisions right, played a blinder etc.

It's quite clear now why the BBC has been the PR firm for government instead of asking the difficult Brexit questions - the BBC chairman was personal friends with the PM and arranging loans for him when the personal debts started to stack up. Both parties forgot to mention this during the selection process.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.
rallyboy replied to CB Fry's topic in The Lounge
People voted for Johnson as one of his many promises to win their support was 40 new hospitals and 50,000 new nurses. With all that pretty much sorted now these little backlog hiccups will reduce very quickly. -

Neutrals could observe that the rail companies are being paid by the government not to negotiate. If you demonise rail unions you will get public sympathy, as was the case all those years ago with those pesky miners. But take on nurses and you're digging your own political grave. It's a battle the government will definitely lose. -

I see your tax-dodger and I raise you a multi-millionaire cabinet minister who tells teachers there's no money around while wearing a £10k Rolex - perhaps a present from her husband after his second job was fortunate enough to win a £24m government contract. It has to stop. -
Ouch, that's not the table they hoped for. Never mind, I'm sure it's been funny watching us struggle.
-
That is the mother of all HUGE wins. Well done to Nathan Jones and all the players for turning a total shitshow into something that looks a lot like hope.
-
I'm pretty sure they'd have a friend who could mow the garden for £30m. Badly.

Barbara Cartland was always hot. Something to do with faulty radiators I believe.
