I guess the only positives we can take are a clean sheet, the fact that we have two new players coming into the team and that Mills is back with Holmes not too far away either

Paterson is awful! Honestly cannot see what Pardew see's in him.

Football Manager 2010 - Build up thread for (30th October 2010)
Genk replied to Matthew Le God's topic in Computer Games
I see Championship manager is out soon. Fancy that game this year -
Didnt like this for the ps3 at all. Bought it from Game for £40, lost the receipt so flogged it on ebay a day later for £30. Very disappointed. Cricket 2005 was awesome for the PS2, an updated version of that would be exccellent

18-19k is good for this league

Why not?! You've only gone and got the formation spot on! Get on Championship manager next week when it comes out and tell me how you get on!
-
I like it alot

Very good manager, wanted him at Saints for a couple of years when there was a vacancy here (rather Pardew now though). Saturdays game has just got 10times trickier for us. Expect Colchester to do rather well now (at least we have their captain!).

Agree 100% with this Toadhall. Lallana would play well there. Did he not play in that position (the hole) when we stayed up two seasons ago, scoring against WBA?
-
The new back four gives me much more confidence now in games but it is gutting that Murty is out for weeks as he was looking solid. I now think that right back position is going to be where opposition goals come from because Lloyd James isn't good enough at that position. Also on another topic, I only think we need a winger on loan to complete our team. With a pacey right winger, surely Lallana could play in the hole (AM) which i understand is his actual position? I can see him playing much better there compared to the right wing. Thoughts?

Very disappointed that no more signings have been sealed. Don't think the squad has the depth now, especially upfront. Im worried.

yea it is him. Looks decent!

If we can learn to defend set pieces then the wins will begin to flowww
-
A Nathan Dyer type figure. Someone you can give the ball to and will run at defenders at pace. McNamee for them tonight was doing Lloyd James ever time and getting crosses in. Thats what we need. Lambert will be there to nod them in but as it stands, we have nothing on the wings. I fear that we won't get a winger in before the window shuts as a CB is bigger priority.

Have to totally agree

I cannot get my head around how PROFESSIONAL footballers cannot simply mark a man from a set piece. Come on, the opposition dont have te presence of the likes of Terry in the air, it cannot be that difficult.
-
Lack of movement and creativity in midfield. You are never going to win football matches if you can't mark your men from set pieces. EVERY single set piece tonight I felt we were going to concede. Am i correct in saying that all the goals we have conceded so far this season have been from set plays? Im sorry but as a professional footballer, you should be able to do the basics and mark the opposition! Why did the substitutions take so long? Created the most in the last 5 mins of the game. Incredible

So its the cricket club or the merlin???

Yea i know, sorry just realised after posting that.

You cannot expect to have a complete squad overnight, it takes time to bring the right faces in. It has been pointed out on many occassions on this forum and will be again, the fact that we are in League 1 at the moment and cannot attract the quality of players which many people are demanding on here. Why would Craddock come here when he is starting for Wolves in the Premiership????. Davis is easily the best keeper in this league and a very very good Championship keeper, so I feel its unfair to be critical of him especially having saved two penalties in two games so far. I agree that we need someone to boss the centre of midfield and more importantly a big centre half but bringing 7 players just isn't possible before the window shuts. We need the right players and don't want to panic buy. Another point is we missed most of pre-season saving the club from disappearing altogether, so in that respect we missed out on geling a team together bringing in quality players on frees. These things take time, please be patient, in the long run this club is in a very very good position.

I may be wrong but, was Rasiak not in talks with Watford regarding a permanent deal a few months ago but he wanted too much money so they didnt follow it up. Or was that a different club?? He wants far too much money for doing minimal work
